Dragonfly: July 2011
http://cooksrok.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Random thoughts from a Marine Wife. Sunday, July 31, 2011. We wanted to go and do something on Saturday but it couldn't be too far a drive. And it had to be something the kids would be interested in as well. So we chose Schloss Ludwigsburg. It should have been about a 30 minute drive but I managed to mess up the GPS directions and then parking was, um, interesting until we found a parking garage about a block from the palace. Our first stop was the Kinderreich. There we found bratwurst in brochen and Big...

Random thoughts from a Marine Wife. Wednesday, August 17, 2011. Berlin After Action: Exploring Part 1. North and South Korea. When we checked into the pension, the owner had mentioned something about bears and that it was fun for the kids to keep an eye out for them. I wasn't really paying attention, but then we started walking around and found them. Wow! The kids loved them! After our first night's dinner of sushi (YUM! Well, it seems to be a restaurant suspended by a crane: Dinner in the Sky! Berlin Af...

Dragonfly: "There I was... There. I. Was..."
http://cooksrok.blogspot.com/2011/10/there-i-was-there-i-was.html
Random thoughts from a Marine Wife. Saturday, October 15, 2011. There I was. There. I. Was.". Recently, Devil Pup acquired a pair of red, low-calf zippered patent leather boots. She has worn them almost non-stop since getting them. The girls are also encouraged to tell their own "There I Was" stories. Today, Stretch asked Devil Pup to tell one. It was quite short and a bit lacking in plot. But we thought it was hysterical. It went something like this:. I was wearing red go-go boots. Of course she was!

Dragonfly: Few regrets
http://cooksrok.blogspot.com/2015/04/few-regrets.html
Random thoughts from a Marine Wife. Wednesday, April 15, 2015. The other day, our teenager bought herself a minion coloring book and told me her one regret was not buying a huge plush minion last year at the Stuttgart Spring Bazaar. When I queried the "one regret," she responded with this gem:. I lived in Europe. I don't have many regrets.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Dragonfly: Catching up
http://cooksrok.blogspot.com/2015/04/catching-up.html
Random thoughts from a Marine Wife. Friday, April 10, 2015. It's been a long time. Sorry about that. Life happens. So… what's happened since the last time I wrote? Then, we moved right into schools and promotions and life in general. Of course, I've managed to sneak a few trips in since getting back to the U.S. So, that's the quick synopsis. And I really will make an effort to post a little more often. Especially now that I've recovered the password to get back into the blog…. Give Kids a Shot.

Mustard potato salad (a Southern-type recipe) | boonie foodie
https://wanderluck.wordpress.com/2012/05/16/mustard-potato-salad-a-southern-type-recipe
Living between the urban and the rural realms. Skip to primary content. Mustard potato salad (a Southern-type recipe). May 16, 2012. Beats that Jello cake with blueberries and Cool Whip every time. In a pinch, I’ll buy a tub of it from Publix, but not often (I prefer their mayo base with dill and red potatoes). Internet dependency; I rue the day. I started mixing ingredients in a bowl and voila! 2 lbs red potatoes, washed and quartered. 2 heaping tablespoons yellow mustard. Fresh dill, finely minced.

Living between the urban and the rural realms. Skip to primary content. Real chicken pot pie. September 8, 2012. This is a basic, all-American pot pie recipe, in my opinion. You can add or subtract, make a twist for another flavor (Southwestern? Yields enough for 2 9×13″. 4 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts. 4 cloves garlic, roughly chopped. 1 medium sweet onion, medium dice. 1 large russet potato, peeled and diced fine. 1 bag frozen sweet corn kernels, thawed and drained. 2/3 cup heavy cream. Reservations Not Required: July 2009
http://reservationsnotrequired.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 23, 2009. Barefoot Blogger's Peach Blueberry Crumble. This was the second Barefoot Blogger. Pick for July. I actually made this to take to a 4 th. Of July cookout. It was a huge hit. I'm a big fan of Ina's recipe for Apple Pear Crisp. House they will thank you! The only change I recommend is if you don't do individual servings, double the crumble topping. It looked like I had enough topping when I put it on but after baking it was very sparse. 2 lbs firm, ripe peaches (6-8 peaches). 1/4 cu...

http://blacklabbaker.blogspot.com/2009/03/just-quick-broil.html
Food, Family and Other Stuff too! Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Just A Quick Broil. If you are looking for a quick meal that actually tastes good, this is it. A pork tenderloin is broiled on top of a bed of snow peas, red peppers. Carrots and scallions. The tenderloin gets a little help from a drizzle of honey and the meal comes together with a soy sauce glaze. Glad you're back. Hope everything is going well! March 25, 2009 at 4:18 PM.
