Giggles and Tears: HIV, Jesus, and Love
http://gigglesandtears.blogspot.com/2007/10/hiv-jesus-and-love.html
Friday, October 26, 2007. HIV, Jesus, and Love. I just got done emailing a friend, and I realized that I had used my email to him to unload the kind of thing I normally unload on my blog. So, I'm going to put it here too. I just wanted them to know that the Way of Jesus is a radical way of LOVE. and yeah, there's things we do and we don't do, but it's in love. because we love God and because we love others. He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? HIV, Jesus, and Love.

Giggles and Tears: Why do I do this to myself???
http://gigglesandtears.blogspot.com/2007/11/why-do-i-do-this-to-myself.html
Saturday, November 17, 2007. Why do I do this to myself? I've seen A Walk To Remember before. I knew what was in store for me tonight when I started watching it. And it started getting really sad, and I started boohooing, and then it got even sadder, and I'm just sitting here alone bawling my eyes out, and then the sadness continues, and I knew that it would, because I know how it ends. Yet I continue to torture. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Why do I do this to myself?

Giggles and Tears: Pictures of the Glasses
http://gigglesandtears.blogspot.com/2007/11/pictures-of-glasses.html
Sunday, November 11, 2007. Pictures of the Glasses. Glasses I have yet to step or sit on. Glasses I stepped on last year (or maybe it was 2 yrs ago now). This is the pair I stepped on this morning. Maybe if you could tip your head a little bit more to the right the glasses would look more balanced? Your hair looks pretty though :). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Juxtapositions and Oxymorons: March 2006
http://juxtapositionsandoxymorons.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 05, 2006. Happiness is Lots of Balloons! The kids and I worked a city council campaign last fall. A couple of days before the election, our candidate generously gave my kids what remained of her balloons; a bag of about 1,000. They are really nice too, the big 12" ones! James and Valerie were delighted. If you are a kid, you can NEVER have too many balloons around. We still have about 1,000 balloons left over from my husband's campaign, but these are a happy bright yellow.

Juxtapositions and Oxymorons: July 2006

Sunday, July 23, 2006. When our troop was checking out of Camp Emerson two weeks ago, I asked the commissioner if by chance I had a free Wednesday in the next few weeks, could I come up as a volunteer and do the Tahquitz Peak hike (8 miles) again with one of the groups. She was delighted and said, of course! And not only that, she said, if you came up for the whole week as a volunteer, James can come for another week of camp for free! God bless you all and keep you! An active journal of my experiences as a Christian and as a nurse in southern Honduras. God is faithful. I think maybe, sometimes in Honduras it is hard for people to see that; to recognize that God is faithful, when they are surrounded by so much poverty, and hardship, and hopelessness. But never the less, it is true, and God is making that clear in the case of Marlon Herrera. 160;The hospital, as well, will be giving us a huge discount. God is faithful. Thanks for your love and support! I am a medic...

An active journal of my experiences as a Christian and as a nurse in southern Honduras. It's that time of year again! Time to dust off your old shoeboxes and fill the with gifts for sweet little children in Honduras. Last year we were able to bless 9,500 children in Honduras with Christmas gifts, yet we still fell short. This year we are aiming to bless 12,000 children who would otherwise not receive a Christmas gift! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Follow me on Twitter.

passing thoughts...: Children's Day
http://meredithljones.blogspot.com/2009/09/childrens-day.html
An active journal of my experiences as a Christian and as a nurse in southern Honduras. Though not the best video ever, I posted this because I want y'all to see how FUN my job is! Because of the poverty in Agua Fria, the kids up there weren't going to be able to celebrate this day set aside especially for them, so we decided to help them celebrate! With little gift bags, lots of candy and a pinata we set off from the office for the jungle. Now, if only I had a video of that. maybe next time.

An active journal of my experiences as a Christian and as a nurse in southern Honduras. To top it all off, after hours of fun at Chiminike we took the kids to McDonald's and filled them up on hamburgers and french fries! Completely tuckered out and now with full bellies the 21 content little faces laid down and slept as we journed back in the big yellow school bus to our oasis in the mountains. The best part of the trip you ask? Last Thursday the MDs were finally able to wean Aleyda off of the ventilator...
