Bird brained stories!: August 2005
http://birdbrainedstories.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 25, 2005. Yesterday morning, after arising at the surreal hour of 4am, I was privileged to see a bird that at one point numbered 15 in the world. The experience is one about which I've dreamed, to the point it made my list of 43 things to do. Yesterday, I got to watch the flight training of juvenile Whooping Cranes. I have been jealous of Ural ever since, but after yesterday, my green-eyed monster has been sufficiently fed. We were taken through an oak savannah restoration area that was ...

The Hawk Owl's Nest. Dedicated to birding, bugs, plants and other random nature stuff. Sunday, August 30, 2009. Roundtop Ruminations: What a difference 3 days makes!
http://roundtoprumings.blogspot.com/2015/05/what-difference-3-days-makes.html
Life in a cabin on a mountain in southern Pennsylvania. Thursday, May 07, 2015. What a difference 3 days makes! What a difference three days makes! I took the first photo Sunday evening, when I could see my winter view was beginning to disappear, but even I didn’t think it would go this fast. I probably should have taken a photo on Sunday morning, as the view was still largely unobstructed then, and the difference from morning to evening was striking. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Warblers and rumors of warblers: August 2015
http://rumorsofwarblers.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Warblers and rumors of warblers. Thursday, August 13, 2015. Hangin' with my peeps. Last weekend, the shorebirds finally showed up at Inwood Hill Park. Following a report by Nathan O'Reilly on Saturday, I went up on Sunday and saw my first peeps of the season. Peeps- tiny sandpipers about the size of sparrows- are fun to watch skitter along the mudflats or beaches. Sunday I mustly saw Least Sandpipers, like these:. The Least of sandpipers. I often wonder if they remember their close encounters with people.
