Moths and other Wildlife in Boughton and Kent. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. Monday, 29 June 2015. This morning there were 31 moths of 23 species in my trap with The Fan-foot, July Highflyer, Wax Moth, and Lesser Yellow Underwing all new for the year. Yesterday afternoon I caught up with the Bonaparte's Gull at Oare Marshes for the 3rd year running. It is in very nice adult plumage now but was a too distant for a decent photograph. Moths and other Wildlife in Boughton and Kent. Sunday, 2 August 2015. Thre very cool night for July meant a dramatic fall in moth numbers. However, this morning there were 2 species new for the year: Cypress Pug and Holly Tortrix. We've reached the end of another month. Moths and other Wildlife in Boughton and Kent. Friday, 29 May 2015. Nothing new in the moth trap yesterday but there was a nice Pebble Hook-tip, and in the afternoon I returned to the wood at Dunkirk which I referred to in the last post. I was leaving when I noticed another micro that I'd not seen before and just managed a photograph before it legged it. It was the very local Commophila aeneanea. Wednesday, 27 May 2015. Moths and other Wildlife in Boughton and Kent. Tuesday, 18 November 2014. Thursday, 13 November 2014. Great White Egrets and a Little Egret. Sunday, 9 November 2014. No moths to report. Back to Reculver this morning where the Desert Wheatear was performing well near the Oyster Farm with a Black Redstart for company. Further down near Coldharbour Lagoon I briefly caught up with the Shorelark which was somewhat flighty. Two Snow Buntings were in the same area. Friday, 7 November 2014. Birding the Day Away.

Moths and other Wildlife in Boughton and Kent. Thursday, 30 July 2015. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. Down to 8c last night so just 13 species this morning with A. straminella new for the year. However, with help, I've identified a tortrix from the 13th of this month as Ancylis achatana which is new for the garden.
