Advent Day 2 – Little Drummer Boy. Advent Day 4 – The First Noel →. Advent Day 3 – Angels We Have Heard On High. December 3, 2012. Gloria, In Excelsis, Deo! Glory to God in the highest! Being greeted by a whole host of angels in sky (let alone one) in all their majesty bringing a message for you? I imagine a light so bright and brilliant that it must have appeared as day. Their voices together in unison, saying “Gloria in excesis, Deo! Two thousand years later the message hasn’t changed. Blessed to have ...

Advent Day 3 – Angels We Have Heard On High. Advent Day 5 – O Holy Night →. Advent Day 4 – The First Noel. December 4, 2012. To be honest, I don’t know what “noel” means. But I think it is something good – something like “praise,” “adoration,” “worship,” “glory to God! 8221; In this song, it’s so good it’s repeated four times in the chorus. Funny how we can sing a song and not know what the word in the title means. Anybody got a clue what it means? Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel- Born is the King of Israel!

Advent Day 7 (Belated) – What Child Is This? Advent Day 8 – God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. December 8, 2012. 8221; It’s times like these that I’m glad our family is starting these traditions when our girls are so young. It’s interesting that so many of our Christmas carols (and song of the church for that matter) are titled after the first line, rather than the repeating refrain that is often the best part. Shouldn’t this song have been called, “O Tidings of Comfort and Joy? View all posts by tfrank →.

Introducing Refreshed Blog: First-Time Floridian. Advent Day 2 – Little Drummer Boy →. O Come, O Come Emmanuel Advent 2012. December 1, 2012. Today is the first day of Advent, and for the first time in several years I’m actually ready and excited about it. I didn’t grow up celebrating Advent. It wasn’t until we had children that we decided to realign how we anticipate and celebrate our Savior’s birth. We are captives no more! O come, O come Emmanuel. And ransom captive Israel. Until the Son of God appear.

Advent Day 6 – Go Tell It On The Mountain. Advent Day 8 – God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen →. Advent Day 7 (Belated) – What Child Is This? December 8, 2012. On a whim I decided to blog every day of Advent based on the songs that our family would sing as part of our evening Advent tradition. I knew that if I didn’t blog every day I would eventually give up on it and not make it through the season. (If you’ve read any of my past blogs you will see a great interim between each). 8221; Or imagine the stir in Beth...

Newer posts →. The Body and The Blood. August 26, 2010. I’ve decided to resurrect this blog and to use it as my journaling space. I often prefer to think “out loud,” so I’m going to do that here. I’ve been reading this book called, “The Rest Of The Gospel” by Dan somebody. It’s not that he’s not important. I just can’t remember off the top of my head. It’s been. Changing the way I look at my life. I kept thinking, “Doesn’t the rest of the world think we’re cannibals? Why did he use this symbolism? Thank ...
