Friday, January 6, 2012. Harnessing the Full Potential of our Brain (not just that 10%)*. Remember my post about googling your brain? Oh, you don't? No worries, here you go. I had a similar thought the other night. Anyhow. I was thinking, how cool would it be if I could hit "send"? Like, from my brain. Then I wouldn't have to freak out in the morning and try to remember all those emails I wrote the night before. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Cielo Azul: Unplugging.
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2012/04/unplugging.html
Friday, April 13, 2012. Aside from coffee, I've never been addicted to anything. The only time I actually had a cigarette between my lips was as a prop for a White Trash Birthday Bash (and yes, I won the Trailer Park Queen award, a-thank-ya-very-much! And it wasn't even lit. Again, caffeine headaches aside, I didn't know what addiction or withdrawal symptoms felt like. Until this week. Google "technology addiction." Scary stuff out there, people. My cell phone to entertain me, do I? So I told myself no m...

Cielo Azul: August 2011
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Kimbra was in the last music corner, as a featured artist. But after exploring some of her own stuff, my husband and I think she deserves her very own Music Corner post. Imagine a one-and-a-half year old sitting on Uncle Jeff's lap and shaking his shoulders to this video. It's as adorable as it sounds. The next one is a little slower, but her voice is simply amazing (especially towards the end):. And she's freaking adorable! Friday, August 26, 2011. And so it begins. A change of...

Friday, March 30, 2012. Discussions on Development: Guatemala Land Grab. Was in the news early this week, and this is a response I just came across that I really enjoyed:. Wednesday, March 28, 2012. What must it feel like getting to the capital city for the first time? What do the queqchis [indigenous tribe of Guatemala] think of our shadowless streets, of our grey colored progress, of the smell of shit of our city? Photo caption: "My mother taught me to fight.". Cielo Azul: Finca Cielo Azul has a new home!
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2012/04/finca-cielo-azul-has-new-home.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Finca Cielo Azul has a new home! I've mentioned it a few times before, and I finally did: I moved to wordpress! Seems like it was just in time, since I logged in to write this post and realized the set up on Blogger has changed a bit. I'm sure it's a good thing, but I don't really feel like learning a whole new user interface on here. Anyhow, the blog writing will continue over here. I hope you'll keep reading! Cielo Azul: March Charity of the Month: Mercy House
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2012/04/march-charity-of-month-mercy-house.html
Monday, April 2, 2012. March Charity of the Month: Mercy House. A couple days late, but here we are! Toward the beginning of March, I volunteered with a small group from the Orange County Bar Association ("OCBA") at the Fullerton Armory, where Mercy House provides emergency shelter for homeless people during the fall and winter months. This year they received some extra funding, so they were able to provide emergency shelter through the month of March. (You can learn all about Mercy House here. I think t...

Cielo Azul: November 2011
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 14, 2011. Charity of the Month: Robin Cheney, aka, 3-day for the Cure. We walk because we must. We are strong because the journey demands it. Together in body and united in spirit we lay down our foot steps for this generation and the next. This is our promise, a world without breast cancer.". It's three days. Of walking. 20 miles a day. That's 60 miles in three days. Like I said: insane madness. Why would someone put themselves through that? What keeps her coming back? From the minute y...

Cielo Azul: July 2011
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 28, 2011. Things Seen in Orange County: #2 and #3. Older twenties-aged man in the rough streets of Irvine, CA, on a pretty serious looking unicycle. So serious, in fact, that I was relieved to see he was wearing a helmet. This is an old one that Jeff and I recently reminisced about. Twas at the Stadium Brewery in Aliso Viejo, CA (ahem, Cougar Den). Jeff and I were in the bar area waiting to snag a table. Man in his mid thirties-ish, taking up the one long table by the bar area, by himself.

Cielo Azul: Getting Crafty
http://fincacieloazul.blogspot.com/2012/03/getting-crafty.html
Thursday, March 22, 2012. Not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but Jeff got me a beautiful iPad for Christmas, and instead of buying a cover for it I thought I would make one myself. I bought a plastic cover for it, but I wanted to make something like a little bag to car. Round So right after Christmas I looked around on Etsy and looked at samples, then went. Machine to put it all together. Finished product to come! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Livin' on a prayer.
