For the Sake of the Dream. God's story of our family. Monday, March 31, 2014. Good-bye 8 - Hello 9. Tomorrow we say good-bye to an eight year old and hello to a 9 year old. This will be the third birthday we have celebrated together. The first one was only weeks after we became a family. Last year was everything a kids birthday should be complete with friends and lots of excitement. Tomorrow will be a family celebration and on the weekend a celebration with aunts, uncles and grandmas. Got a US passport.

Mostly because she is just a normal second grader, enjoying normal second grade stuff. Brooklyn’s teacher designates one week of the year for each student to be the “Star Student” for the week. They bring in pictures, choose a special treat for Friday, are teacher’s helper all week, line leader… you get the idea. This was Brooklyn’s week. Not sure if she has.

Friday, July 4, 2014. This was supposed to be a quiet day for Dennis and me. Brooklyn had plans to spend the day with her aunt and uncle and I was hoping Dennis and I could get have a picnic. Well, Brooklyn got to go to my sister's house but from there, it was not as planned. After radiation he was really struggling with getting out of chairs. He has improved in this area. I'm doing OK overall but a number of friends have told me how beneficial Grief Share. God continues to provide for us and teach us about trusting him. We are blessed by our friends who continue to support us in a variety of ways. We have seen how God is using them in our lives. We trust we are able to help others as we have been helped. Saturday, August 30, 2014. Amazed Again at God's Provision. At this point, Dennis is in essence home bound. Last night when we got home a neighbor had to basically lift him up the two steps into the house. (Please pray the physical therapy he starts on Friday will help give him some leg strength.). Social worker, we both agreed it was time to put in a ramp. This is beyond my skill set and fra. Thank you to our High Point Church. Small group. You are a blessing to us over and over again. Monday, February 16, 2015. Dennis has been home for two weeks - healed, whole and in the presence of his Savior. Can I admit I am jealous of him? After 32 months of battling this cancer, he no longer has to face chemo, trial drugs, MRIs, radiation, fatigue.He is alive and well in a way that we can only imagine.
