As a kid, you don’t want your parents to leave, but you need to know that they don’t want to leave you either. Being in the military, your parent has to do their job, and sometimes that does mean they have to leave their family. But they still love you. We are proud of our parents being in the military. They protect us, and everyone in our country.

As we were driving out to our grandparent’s house in California we passed by a small town called Blythe. Downtown Blythe has a small park with metal giraffes statues! We have had may changes which took up a lot of our time this year, but we want to start back sharing with you. In December our mom got an assignment and left for a year. We are living in our home with our stepdad and seeing our dad. Our grandma travels to our house from California once and sometimes twice a month to stay with us. Ivie is a College Student Now!

When our mom deployed and some ladies gave our mom these little pillows. Our mom kissed them before she deployed. When she was gone our grandma gave us these pillows and told us our mom kissed them, and we could kiss them when we went to bed. We did that every night when our mom was deployed. What do you do before you go to sleep?

But you’re parent might act a little different once they return.This because they lived in a different place and had a different job. Don’t be alarmed though, they’re still the same person. Everything they went through was a so different, and when they come home they aren’t used to a lot of it. But always remember they still love you and always will.
