Mam Tor Challenge 2014 4th Belper Scouts
http://www.belperscouts.co.uk/news/from-the-hut/mamtor-challenge-2014
Go 4th into the fog! Mam Tor Challenge 2014. 7 of our older scouts and 3 of our leaders enjoyed a 9 mile hike from Treak Cavern in Castleton. A great route with what would have been some stunning views into Edale and Castlton from the ridge of Mam Tor. Sadly, low cloud for most of the walk meant that the view we had was just white cloud. It was a good opportunity to practice some navigation. Well done to all those who completed the walk. Mam Tor Challenge 2014. 4th Belper at Peak 2015.
Gradbach Scout Camp 2015
http://www.belperscouts.co.uk/news/from-the-hut/gradbach-scout-camp-2015
Did It Rain At Gradbach? Sunday came and so did more rain. The campsite was turning into a minor version of The Somme but hardy souls we are off we went to do some campsite service. Some of the troop washed the tables ready for summer picnics whilst the rest began to move branches and brush to the camp fire circle in an attempt to clear up the site. Mam Tor Challenge 2014. 4th Belper Beaver Colony. Beaver Scouts are the youngest section of the Scouting family. Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends. Beavers are usually aged between 6 and 8 years old, though they can be as young as 5¾. A group of Beaver Scouts is called a Colony, and each Colony can be split up into smaller groups called Lodges.
