While I am not all that much of a steam fan as such, I certainly do enjoy chasing and/or riding steam powered trains. Here are some slides of steamers from the past few decades! Would you like prints of most any of these slides? Go to Desert-Rails.com. Here is the BCR's Royal Hudson Southbound at Porteau BC on a nice early fall day in 1995. 2001: An ACR Odyssey! In July of 2001 I was able to spend a couple of weeks in Upper Michigan and Northern Ontario to get the last of the ACR and WC before the CNR takeover this fall. I also had a really good day on the Lake Superior and Ishpeming, and Bryon Hill was another high point, with a lot of traffic and my first time there since it was double-tracked. I also rode the Algoma Central twice (of course! On the ACR and to be back in the Soo area. Would you like prints of most any of these slides?

Here are some photos from the Carrizozo New Mexico area with *real* semaphores (as in lower quadrant) that used to be on the ex Espee line. RoadTrip2002
http://algomacentral.railfan.net/roadtrip2002.htm
What with flying being so much of a hassle these days, and also wanting to get photos in various scattered parts of the western part of the country, it was decided that 2002's railfan trip was going to be a Road Trip! Would you like prints of most any of these slides? Go to Desert-Rails.com. Later on in the early afternoon we just got to the loadout at Wildcat when this train showed up with a string of empties for loading here. This was my first shot of the MK5000's. Here are some photos from a company boondoggle trip I made in July of 1995 to the Grant's Pass area of Oregon, supposedly to learn about servicing some new equipment the company I worked for at the time was bringing out. But of course I managed to get in some railfanning as well :). Would you like prints of most any of these slides? Go to Desert-Rails.com. Late in the afternoon of July 12, 1995 I got my first shot of the Central Oregon and Pacific in the yard at Medford. The company did let me stay the w...

The Grand Canyon Limited! After a 10 year absence, the AT&SF 3751 once again traveled to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Scroll down to see all of the photos.there are quite a few here. All photos are digital, and this was the first chase that I did not shoot any film. I have sold all of my remaining film gear and am now 100% digital. Many many thanks to all of the people who worked hard to get this train on the road - especially the SBRHS. The Grand Canyon Railway. Here are my photos. A carload of foamers!
