cacopolis: June 2005
http://cacopolis.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 14, 2005. For over 15 years I've been talking about writing, and I spent a good 5 to 7 years of those 15 more or less training for it. I gave up any professional ambitions in this regard about 7 years ago and took up a City job. I took a sabbatical last year, and I thought to myself, why not to write a bit? cacopolis: March 2006

Sunday, March 26, 2006. Ataturk on the North Island. Robert Fisk has recently been spending lots of time around cemetries, and seems to talk a lot about this or that British regiment from a good 90 or so years ago. This weekend. He writes about a variety of encounters with past and present during a visit to war cemeteries and memorials in New Zealand. He comes across a memorial to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Certainly in death we are all equal and the same. That ought to inform our moral senses. Israel's raid...

cacopolis: February 2006

Friday, February 24, 2006. Rot on the streets. Where are the protesters? Why aren't the streets in Cairo, Damascus or Peshawar outraged? Where is the muslim street that will not tolerate offense against Islam, and things sacred to muslims? But it is here that I feel I need to ask: where is the MORAL outrage, the demonstrations, the demand for moral rectitude and neighborly decency between two communities? Posted by Mazen at 8:56 am. cacopolis: December 2005

Thursday, December 01, 2005. Late night thoughts on Mann and Oz. But a new window for me into a community's feeling of betrayal (by Europe) after feeling so at home in it. Clearly the tragedy is enormously cruel, that European Jews experienced national liberation at our expense, but all this as a second option, so to speak. Posted by Mazen at 9:37 pm. Almanara Square - دوار المنارة. صور من الحياة في رام الله - فلسطين. Monday, November 27, 2006. Promises. is hamas leaving? Hamas are still giving promises, but no change has been seen. My friends have told me to wait, But I was really looking forward for seeing some changes, but nothing is different. Hamas still consists to look after their followers and nobody else. What makes these people so uncaring? Why hamas has stooped carrying about us, the civilians? Why do they only care about themselves! Since ...

Almanara Square - دوار المنارة. صور من الحياة في رام الله - فلسطين. Thursday, December 14, 2006. Where will it stop? The last few nights, some shooting fights took place in my beloved almanara square. It all started while Hamas people wanted to hang some posters in the square. The rumor says that A picture of Haniya was shown on those posters, but I guess that most of us have no desire to see Haniya more then we see him on TV.Why do hamas people are so interested in putting Haniya's pictures? He asked wha...
