Trillium Design: August 2013
http://trilliumdesign.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 21, 2013. I've been such a bad blogger lately. Sew many projects have come and gone i hardly know where to begin. Let's start at the end and work backward. The most exciting sewing event of the summer was the Pacific Northwest Modern Quilt Guild meetup which took place this past weekend in Portland. That's my synopsis, but here's the long version. The girls of the Corvallis Modern Quilt Guild. Headed up on Friday. We started with sewing classes at Modern Domestic. And lots of new-to-me ...

An Aussie's adventures in quilting. Free Paper Piecing Patterns. Tag Archives: modern quilt block. Oh no more stars…. Posted in Paper Piecing Monday. After an extended break from paper pieced stars I am now venturing back into familiar territory. At QuiltCon I ran into an old friend who challenged me to make a special quilt… my response to that challenge will unfold over the coming months….starting with this block…. This is an adaptation of one of the blocks I did for my pink Snowball quilt. And I am det...

Made On Main Street: Drowning in Fabric - Please Help
http://momstreet.blogspot.com/2012/09/drowning-in-fabric-please-help.html
Wednesday, September 5, 2012. Drowning in Fabric - Please Help. Well I'm still going through my fabric stash and trying to organize it. I'm also deciding to part with some (rather large) pieces for the sake of space. So I have a destash going on in my shop now. I have more than I could ever use in my lifetime. I may need to join a support group. On a different note, we've been enjoying our last bit of summer vacation here. School starts up on Monday (and I can't wait - I mean I'll be so sad). Im doing so...

A Few Scraps: January 2015

January 29, 2015. I have a lot of sweet memories with my kids from writing this book. I also didn't anticipate that the kids would color in my cast-off drawings. It really thrilled me, and sometimes let me see them in a whole new light. I like that my daughter got to see the messy, drawn out process of creating a book. Having her near me as I worked has certainly influenced her. She makes her own continuous line designs now! THANK you to everyone for the hearty congratulations on my new book. Leaving a r...

Knocking out UFOs in 2012. It's been quite a month or two. Good stuff, not-so-good stuff, and in the midst of it all I have slacked with both the blog and in the sewing room. But that being said, soon there may be a new address for my blog. If I am not able to link this URL through to the new site, I will let you all know where to find me next! But we're here now, so let's see what I've been able to do in the last couple of days. When all else fails, bee blocks are always a safe bet! Also not from the ar...

Surrounded by Scraps: Putting a hand to it
http://creativentropy.blogspot.com/2012/11/putting-hand-to-it.html
Knocking out UFOs in 2012. Putting a hand to it. Once upon a time I almost exclusively hand quilted my quilts. Using the tools I had at the ready. Don't get me wrong, it was not, nor has it become a skill of mine, just a tool and a means to an end. The last project that I decided to hand quilt is a queen sized bed quilt I made for myself. That is the death toll to timely finishes, let me tell you. And worked on it a few inches at a time. And stowed both the quilt sandwich and the frame in my basement.
