Designing with Light: January 2011

http://designingwithlight.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Monday, January 31, 2011. In all shapes and sizes, the new ones for going along with my world, old ones for carrying me over with encouraging words and pulling my feet back to the ground when needed, the ones who have always criticized me and have pushed me to be better. The ones who will answer to my questions over and over again. A friend is someone who thinks you are a good egg, even though he knows you are slightly cracked". Monday, January 24, 2011. Designing with Light: December 2010

http://designingwithlight.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 24, 2010. Lost Train and Treasures. These images are a few out f the first ones I took with film after perhaps 7 years? I walked onto forgotten and rusted trains, trespassed their insides, pretty much felt like entering into a microwave oven.that without mentioning I had to use the best of my physical abilities to get on them without assistance and with all the camera equipment. Best experience yet this year. Monday, December 20, 2010. Friday, December 10, 2010. Friday, December 3, 2010.

Walking around with a toy in my hand, just getting used to framing and lens distance.the images are dreamy, but at the same time have a REAL quality to them. Cant's wait for more! A photographer in the world. Newer posts →. Abandoned Factory – Part 1. Posted by Gail Des Jardin. ISO 400, 19mm with 4 exposures of 1/6, 0.6, 2.5, and 10.0 sec at f/11. ISO 400, 25mm with 3 exposures of 2.5, 10.0, and 30.0 sec at f/11. Another one of my favorites so far is the one below. I just love how the colors play off each other, as well as the position of the desk compared to the main graffiti on the left wall. There’s just a lot of visually interesting stuff in this one. A photographer in the world. Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused. Zebulon Abandoned School – Part 1. Posted by Gail Des Jardin. Last weekend, some friends and I finally had the opportunity to check out an abandoned elementary school in the small, rural town of Zebulon, Georgia. I knew someone who knew someone, and was able to get permission and the keys to the building — the best of both worlds! Lone lightbulb in weather-worn room. And then there’s the chair rail and the texture on the wall…&#4...Lastly, t...

Designing with LibreOffice

Is not the usual death march through the menu and standard tasks. Instead, the book takes two fresh approaches to the world’s most popular free office suite. First, it explains the importance of using styles and templates in order to use LibreOffice with the most convenience and the least effort. By taking advantage of styles and templates, you can concentrate on self-expression, rather than format. Later, as you edit, you can make changes more quickly and with more precision. Was released first as a sin...

Designing with Nancy

Friday, June 12, 2009. Before designing that perfect kitchen, the appliances, especially the cooking units must be chosen. Sounds easy, but unless you know the lifestyle, budget and decor of your client, your choices are overwhelming and confusing, to say the least. There certainly is no room for error. I am very familiar with the appliances I have reviewed, and had fun profiling the consumer to fit each one. You can use this guide or not, but if you do, let me know if you agree. Retired consumer thinkin...
