HCI / Design Methods. A Compelling Target Population. Describes a study that determined 1/4 of the entire homeless population in the United States is comprised of veterans–which make up 11 percent of the total adult population in the States. This is the type of finding that can be crucial to articulating an argument to address this year’s CHI design problem. When you come across information like this you should immediately start asking questions: Why does this continue to occur? Feed for this Entry.

HCI / Design Methods. The trials of being a design student. Being a design student, it is but natural to be ‘aware’ of your surroundings…there’s so much information relevant to hci and design that sometimes its just too overwhelming! There are just so many interesting things to know, learn and go through, that most times we have to stop somewhere when it comes to exploring the field of design, cuz the constraints of project deadlines are always looming ’round the corner. My musings about Human Computer Interaction. Archive for November, 2009. Jakob Nielson’s take on intuition. Posted by Jenny in Uncategorized. I subscribe to Jakob Nielson’s Alertbox. Today’s email contained an ‘extra’ article that I found very interesting. My musings about Human Computer Interaction. Laquo; Follow-up to “Women are damned if they do, damned if they don’t”. Stand up and Speak Out! Posted July 6, 2009 by Jenny in Rant. I recently wrote about the display board outside our office. On which I post inspirational UX and usability quotes. And, just today, usability guru Jakob Niel...

I was appalled that someone tweeting in a professional manner would promote the sexual objectification of women. Was shocking to me. NOTE: I do not believe that all white males who work ...
