Mrs. Pauley's Kindergarten: January 2015
http://mrspauleyskindergarten.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Let's Play a Sight Word Game. I recently created a couple of new sight word game packs that are based off of the sight word game "Crash." As a result, I have had quite a few emails asking how to play this game. This post should explain it and clear up any questions you may have! I am using the version that my students are currently using (Winter). You can find my year long packs here. Then the next student takes a turn and follows the same steps. Continue to play the game until all the cards have been pl...

Mrs. Pauley's Kindergarten: Currently June
http://mrspauleyskindergarten.blogspot.com/2015/07/currently-june.html
First of all, I have to say that I am in 3 with Farley. S Currently design this month! We have quite quickly become a soccer family. It is all to blame on this guy. Once he started playing, I quickly learned how much I enjoyed the sport. Now, we can't get enough. Everyone is still asleep in my house, which is completely rare. The only sounds I am hearing are the birds chirping outside. It is wonderful to just sit and work with that being the only sound. A picture of my classroom as I left it). How fun to...

Teaching Hearts and Minds: September 2015

Saturday, September 19, 2015. Back To School and Overwhelmed Already! Every June I seem to end the year completely drained and ready to forget all things related to school! And then about one week into summer break and I'm already thinking of how I can make things better.do more.and basically be the "super hero teacher" I've always wanted to be but never quite get it right. It's funny isn't it? How no matter how hard we work and or how much we sacrifice we always feel like it's never enough? Take care al...

Teaching Hearts and Minds: Teachers Pay Teachers: HUGE LEARNING CURVE!
http://iteachheartsandminds.blogspot.com/2015/07/teachers-pay-teachers-huge-learning.html
Saturday, July 11, 2015. Teachers Pay Teachers: HUGE LEARNING CURVE! Three years ago, I had just begun looking into blogging and teachers pay teachers when BAM! TpT has become a household name (at least in the teaching world) and social media has enabled all of us teachers to really collaborate, share, create, and inspire in ways that weren't even possible 3 years ago. BUT IT HAS BEEN A HUGE LEARNING CURVE AND MY BRAIN FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO EXPLODE! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Style="width: 20...

Making Conferencing a SNAP! Last year I realized that I needed to get myself organized a little better when it came to conferring with my students in both reading and writing. I decided this year to make a conferring binder for myself that would include information on both reading and writing. Here is what my binder looks like:. Take a look at what's inside:. I also keep some reading and writing goals handy just in case I am not sure what goal to set next for my student. I can glance through the list...

Mrs. Pauley's Kindergarten: December 2014
http://mrspauleyskindergarten.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
I am still in shock that in a few short hours 2014 will come to a close. It has been a great year, but I am very much looking forward to all 2015 has to come! I am linking up with Farley to tell you about my currently! Loving - I wanted to completely clean out my laundry room, re-organize, and pitch stuff. I did it. It seems I rarely get to accomplish a task like that on break. Thinking - So many amazing women have recommended "It Starts With Food" and I want to read it and then maybe do the whole 30.

In our district, we have conferences in the fall and the spring. In the fall, we have the conferences at the end of the first quarter and present parent's with their child's first quarter report card. I list the third quarter expectation even though we aren't finished with third quarter so that parents understand where we need their child to be. If you would like to grab this freebie, click on the image below. I hope you find it as useful as I have. FarFaria App Review and Giveaway. When you access the a...

Whole Hearted Teaching: Ms. Smith is New too (AKA We Will do this Together)
http://wholeheartedteachingms.blogspot.com/2015/08/ms-smith-is-new-too-aka-we-will-do-this.html
Ms Smith is New too (AKA We Will do this Together). On the first day of school as little ones dressed in green and khaki walked into my classroom, I was nervous, like really really. Nervous. Most of my kids smiled, giggled and jumped right into our first activity. Let's face it, Ms. Smith was the most anxious one in the classroom. Most of the children had a cousin or even sibling in the class, and if not they knew a child from last year or from Church. I was the new kid. She gasped between sobs. When I s...

Whole Hearted Teaching: The 5 Things Sisterhood has Taught Me
http://wholeheartedteachingms.blogspot.com/2015/10/the-5-things-sisterhood-has-taught-me.html
The 5 Things Sisterhood has Taught Me. Originally Published November 4th 2014. For the content of this post women/woman refers to any person who identifies as well, a woman. I was born into the wrong wave of feminism. The year I was born was the same year that third wave feminism was coined and began to take off, subsequently second wave feminism and its ideals of sisterhood got left in the dust. These are dangerous words. Especially as I finish up an education at a liberal arts college, in a liberal sta...
