Grace Mountain Academy: July 2011
http://gracemountainacademy.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 16, 2011. McKay's Visit Cont'd- A Trip to the Art Museum. We went to the art museum one day. We saw Bob Trotman's inverted Utopias. His artwork is ah-MAZE-ing! In the kids section of the art museum, each one took turns showing us what it would look like if they were enthroned. I want a new kitty, cotton candy on a stick, a goblet full of hot chocolate and a bright pink royal sceptor and I want it NOW! Your Majesty,Your Highness, Diva, Queen to you.". I'm going to make this short and sweet.

Grace Mountain Academy: April 2011

Saturday, April 16, 2011. 12 and 8 Celebrate! What an odd concoction of emotions it is seeing your children grow up. How many times have I heard how fast time flies or "they don't stay little long" which used to seem more like a prayer when your diaper bag is your purse, 5 hours interrupted sleep is the norm and you've developed a habit of scarfing your food because at any second the hunger cry is going to sound. And yet, I purposed to appreciate and cherish. That time. does. fly. I let that go. I choose...

Grace Mountain Academy: Adam Turned 11
http://gracemountainacademy.blogspot.com/2011/09/adam-turned-11.html
Friday, September 23, 2011. For Adam's Birthday,. We went to Boone. His Dune Buggie is there. My Dad is having someone do some minor repairs so getting for Adam to get to ride his buggie all over the mountain was a gift in itself! Dad suggested we call it Boone Buggie. Not sure where the Mork sign came from. My Dad started a tradition when my brother and I were small. All the kids get a gift. On each child's birthday. It's nonsense but the kids love it. They all got fishing poles from Papaw.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. The Puppies are Growing! Thought I'd post an update on the puppies. For the record, we are still in honeymoon phase which means they are still in the whelping box. They're hind legs are getting stronger, though, and they can walk a few steps. It's just too cute for words. They are a pain to photograph. I keep hoping to get one of those cute greeting card photos. Either their heads are cocked wrong or there's a hairy leg in the background. (No, it's not mine). I am all too awa...

Grace Mountain Academy: March 2011
http://gracemountainacademy.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 23, 2011. My Boy is Becoming a Little Man. All winter long, Adam has dreamt of mowing the lawn. On Saturday he got his first lesson. Obviously it didn't matter if he missed a few spots! I was uber proud but not to the point of gushing until. He insisted on fixing lunch for his sisters and his friend and did a great job making burgers and hotdogs. He 'cooks' a lot and says that one day he wants to cook for his family. ( :. Grace Mountain Academy: November 2012

Saturday, November 17, 2012. The Fine Line Between Faith and Denial.or Not. In my walk with the Lord over the years, when faced with difficult circumstances, I have had to stop and ask myself, 'how do I know if this position I'm taking is one of faith or one of denial? Is there a fine line between faith and denial? If so, how do you know where to tread? The answer to this question, for me, has been 7 years in the making. After much contemplation, I feel that The Lord has revealed that. What I have learne...

Sunday, May 29, 2011. Time4Learning- a Curriculum Review. We have been using www.time4learning.com as a supplement for 2 years now. The children love it. It has tons of animation and comic relief so sometimes the kids are cracking up while learning! Love when that happens! We just reviewed the things that we have done this year; what we should keep and what we should toss and it was unanimous that T4L is a keeper. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Grace Mountain Academy: January 2011

Saturday, January 8, 2011. The Christmas season was wonderful. The McKay;s came to town. Sadly, it scarcely occured to me to take pictures. We missed them when they left. Here's some pictures we took for the Christmas card. I took very few Christmas day photos but did take some pictures of the Christmas snow! Here's a picture of Blue sampling the snow. Apparently he decided it was not such a good idea. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Olivia shaking what her Momma gave her. View my complete profile.

Grace Mountain Academy: December 2010
http://gracemountainacademy.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 12, 2010. In homeschool and in co-op we have been using Diana Waring's, Ancient Civilizations and the Bible. For our unit celebration, we stepped back into ancient Egypt. We had an amazing covered dish meal with loads of Egyptian food. It's good it's the Christmas season because we were able to find tons of tacky gold for their costumes. The necklaces and headdress are beaded tree garland. For the belts and cuffs we used wired ribbon. We used Velcro to secure the cuff. Piper Found a Home.
