http://destinationhereandnow.com/2015/07/stumbling-upon-love-island-and-is-rab-really-the-most-beautiful-medieval-village-in-the-world

A solitary trek up snow covered Mount Panorama. A last night on the boat and Croatia throws us a Belle Epoque curveball in Opatija. ». Stumbling upon Love Island and is Rab really the most beautiful medieval village in the world? What we hadn’t realised was that,. Us, lay Love Island. And if that one line in the guide book describing Rab had piqued our interest, well, the sign for Love Island definitely warranted further investigation. Hard to describe. I think the reality of the experience just hit ...

Ist tuck this little island away cause you never know …. A solitary trek up snow covered Mount Panorama ». A stroll on Olib and a first glimpse of the grandeur that is Rab …. A couple of hours away from Ist. Is another quiet little gem called Olib. Again, no cars. Just a few people walking about, most of the ones we chatted to, Croat-American expats, back for extended summer holidays. We’d seen a big circular version of this on the hillside of Ist. They’re reservoirs. If you tucked Ist. Rab, like so much...

Category Archives: my sketchbook. Glimpses from my sketchbook and other original works. Is the ocean really broken? I read one of the most distressing articles I’ve read in a while last week. 8220;The Ocean is Broken”. Is the account of an ocean sailor’s journey across the Pacific. 8220;What was missing were the cries of seabirds that surrounded the boat on previous voyages across the same seas. The birds were missing because the fish were missing.”. Am I missing something? Is the ocean really broken?

cooking Archives - destinationhereandnow.com

http://destinationhereandnow.com/category/cooking

Mrs Jones’s whizzy whizzed cucumber relish recipe made with Mr Jones’s home grown cucumbers. These Jones’s I speak of are unrelated. But they both hail from a period in our younger lives when we danced in the dirt at the O’Connell Hotel on a Sunday afternoon and played house in a little cottage just up the road of an evening. Steve and I and a crazy, spotty dog called Floyd. This is one of Rainie’s recipes. Captured on the hop, for nothing is ever written down. Or measured. With a wicked amount of sugar.

Imagery from Life: Courting the House!

http://imageryfromlife.blogspot.com/2013/06/courting-house.html

Tuesday, June 18, 2013. What did you do on Saturday? Mine involved a some courting of the house! This is a rather grand old building and one that I have always wanted to spend some time perusing through a camera lens. There are pillars, columns, bricks, and stones galore on the courthouse. In fact there is enough ornamental architecture to please just about anyone! Funnily enough, even with a gorgeous building I still found myself taking photos of trees. Hmmm I do so like playing with the aperture! We're...

Postcard Pictures: Tamarama Beach

http://postcardpictures.blogspot.com/2015/01/tamarama-beach.html

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. Henry David Thoreau. Friday, 23 January 2015. Once a year for two weeks Tamarama Beach becomes a surreal playground. Where we play among sculptures and once again discover our inner child. To the deliciously ridiculous. Sculpture by the Sea. Is place to play. 169; 2015 Francesca Muir. Labels: Sculpture by the Sea. Location: Tamarama Beach, New South Wales, Australia. 23 January 2015 at 20:00. Jackie and Joel Smith. 24 January 2015 at 00:51. Thank...

http://postcardpictures.blogspot.com/2015/01/to-beach.html

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. Henry David Thoreau. Thursday, 8 January 2015. I'm heading this way. With a small stop along the way. For a cuppa in a red striped deck chair is de rigueur. As is Milo's thirst quencher! The beach beyond is inviting. And they've thought of everything. On my Sunday walk along the bay! Have a happy day! 169; 2015 Francesca Muir. Location: Clifton Gardens Reserve, Beach Wky, Sydney NSW 2088, Australia. 11 January 2015 at 05:49. My castle in spain.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. Henry David Thoreau. Monday, 4 May 2015. Postcard from the courtyard of my Acropolis Apartment. The air is cool and clean i n the little courtyard of our Acropolis Apartment. And it's very aptly named because it is just that. Literally at the foot of the Acropolis. The purple bougainvillea overhead is heavy with bud. How this place will sing with a few more weeks of summer love. And at 4 am I swear I can hear ancient footsteps and voices. My phot...

Postcard Pictures: Sunday morning markets

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. Henry David Thoreau. Sunday, 8 March 2015. Today the shopping list reads something like this. Sunday night dinner. asparagus. Carrots and beets for roast vegetables during the week. Onions and sweet potatoes just because they are so sweet. Cucumbers and tomatoes to go with feta cheese. Mangoes for smoothies . avocados on toast. Garlands of garlic because they are a must, always a must. Apples to keep the doctor away. And that my friends,. Aegeanp...

Imagery from Life: On the kitchen bench.

http://imageryfromlife.blogspot.com/2015/06/on-kitchen-bench.html

Wednesday, June 17, 2015. On the kitchen bench. Did I say we're shearing? Did I say that when you're shearing you go through a lot of food? A lot And so, consequently there's been a lot of foodstuffs on the kitchen bench lately. Some of it's pretty. Some not so pretty. Here's some of the prettier stuff. Courtesy of my phone. Snapped quickly as the prep work commenced, or continued. Or as the shopping was put away after the farmer's markets. And then we have some eggs in the bowl. A used bowl! But I do si...

Woven lighting and sculpture. Creating place; nikolay polissky. 8216;Beaubourg’ 2013 like something straight out of Dr. Seuss. The weaving on this site just keeps getting bigger! Russian land artist Nikolay Polissky. 8216;Hay Tower’ (2000). 8216;Lighthouse on Ugra’ 2004. His more recent works are mind-blowing in their precise engineering and scale but I am particularly fond of the primitive feel of earlier creations like ‘Media Tower’ (2002) below. the majesty; weaving for windsor – Harriet Goodall

https://harrietgoodall.com/2013/09/25/the-majesty-weaving-for-windsor

Woven lighting and sculpture. The majesty; weaving for windsor. I thought our woven willow work was respectably large until I saw these beauties… Ten days ago 6 amazing, 30ft, woven willow arches were officially opened at the top of The Long Walk outside Windsor Castle signifiying the 6 decades since The Queen’s coronation. It is an old tradition to erect Triumphant Arches for the monarch. Often they were heavily decorated and opulent but made from papier mache! Artist, Spencer Jenkins. September 25, 2013.

And then. Just like that they are gone. I don’t quite know where to start with this. Do I start at the moment we brought them home from hospital, treading on egg shells, staring at these little beings we had created that smelt so good and at first meeting wove unbreakable strings of love around our hearts? Do I start at their first day of school, so tiny beneath their hats and backpacks? 25 years of hands on parenting. For the most part (she says with a wry smile) 25 years of joy. Nearly half our lives.
