Friday, July 30, 2010. Bed Bar, Wangfujing, Quanjude. Last week, Pengsta was showing her mom's friend N around Beijing, and I met up with them in a Wangfujing teahouse. Wangfujing is Beijing's most bustling shopping street, particularly well known for its snack foods. I grabbed a stick of Beijing's most famous snack of all, candied hawthorns. Oddly enough, Sam has placed an autographed photo of some guys snowboarding down a slope against the wall mostly obscured by the tank, apparently for the turtle's sake. But then the friend who gave him the turtle let Sam know the turtle actually prefers skiing, so now there's a ski picture taped over the snowboarding poster. What an unusual turtle.
