Reenactor Post Classified Ads. February 18, 2015 - No Comments. Saturday evening, after the public demonstrations, we changed clothes and impressions and attended the annual winter meeting of our Soviet unit, the 193rd Rifles, which was held at Funck’s Restaurant – a good place to meet and eat. As usual, we had a good time at the event and got to see some old friends and do some shopping. I guess that is as much as one could ask for. Tags: Battle of the Bulge. GI WWII living history. Excels at Nothing: In the middle

Monday, November 17, 2014. I'm still juggling three different projects. Nothing is done yet, but all are creeping closer. This brown linen project got test-pleated to make sure my math was correct for what size to make said pleats. It seemed to work, so now I take all of them out, sew the two pieces together and start over, measuring. The Displaced Louisiana Guy. November 18, 2014 at 7:44 AM. November 18, 2014 at 4:28 PM. Busy is kinda a good thing, but THREE simultaneously? November 18, 2014 at 7:14 PM.

Saturday, May 31, 2014. The song remains the same. On my third trip through the yard I saw a small piece of something white. Closer examination found some more pieces. Yes, it fell out of my pocket and the riding mower ate it before giving up the ghost. The woman at the credit union said she’d never seen anything like it. At least I had proof that the card was still in my possession and hadn’t been stolen. Now I just have to wait for the replacement card. Links to this post. Friday, May 30, 2014. So in t...

Saturday, August 23, 2014. Sweet Daughter and I are renting a beach house on Chincoteague thanks to a rather generous Christmas gift and we’ve spent the past 8 months preparing. I asked SD what was important to her … she said “Just a place to sleep. We’ll be busy doing other things! 8221; I wanted a screened porch where I could sit and read with a drink in hand after a day at the beach. Oh, and at least two toilets. Because two is one, and one is none, and all that. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Monday, September 29, 2014. This is why . I can't do SCA, or Steampunk, or LARP. Links to this post. Friday, September 19, 2014. Yeah, I've been busy. And then I got to learn to work with Naugahyde. It wasn't as awful as I thought. We made a belt (buckle courtesy of a 75 cent thrift store belt), a sheath for her wooden dagger and a pouch. We're going to the Renaissance Faire tomorrow. Did I mention Sweet Daughter wanted me in garb, too? Yeah That's a story for another day. But they're just costumes .

Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Was wet, but at least the risk of fire was just about non-existent. Real men don't use fuses. They use primer and slow match. We started out with JayG’s. Hand gonne. And we told him what we thought of his fuses. After that, Dr. Mike went through the basic evolution and progression of firelocks and let us shoot them. Dr Mike in full sailor/pirate kit, returning the rammer on . something. See how Dr. Mike has his hand out to help this young lady with the recoil? Was distributed b...
