Sunday, April 21, 2013. A good day in the woods. I went out today with my friend Lanny, aka CoinWhisperer. The weather was beautiful for a walk through the woods! The site we were detecting is in the area of an river old mill in central North Carolina, with settlement going back to the late 1700's. Previous detection combined with a thick layer of iron targets in the ground made for difficult detecting conditions, but we still managed to eek out a few keepers. I'm quite happy to have found it. Friday, June 26, 2015. Last night I posted my recent finds to a number of detecting forums that I frequent. I highly recommend posting your finds on such websites, because the large user base can provide an incredible wealth of crowdsourced historical information on just about any topic. Sunday, June 29, 2014. Bullets, Brass, and BEES. I got off for not one - but TWO days in a row, so naturally I grabbed the detector and was out the door as quickly as possible! Dustin got the only button for the day, a beat up general service eagle, as well as a saddle fitting from a McClellan saddle. I had dug right into their nest, and luckily high-tailed it out of there with only one sting. MAN did that hurt! But I can't wait to go back! Until next time, be safe out there everyone! Sunday, March 29, 2015. DIV Blog - Day 7: Big Brass in the 11th Hour. Wow, what an ending to DIV week for me! I started out the day working a small camp area with Phil and Josh.
