Our Facebook Page about the 6th Precinct. Ed Steele's Detroit Pages. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, about who I am as a person and what is important. So I judge myself to be strong, tough, and smart for as long as I am not dead, or living in a cardboard box under a bridge on 8 Mile. Detroit. I ...

Lunes, 20 de julio de 2015. Por Laila Robledo. Urbanista. 19:00 hs. Queen City Discovery: How an Abandoned Zoo Made it to the Silver Screen

Fading Ads of Cincinnati. Friday, September 30, 2011. How an Abandoned Zoo Made it to the Silver Screen. A desolate, dystopian looking Silverdome in Pontiac, MI as seen in the trailer for "Real Steel.". The Detroit People Mover at least gets some new trains in the "near future.". Detroit's Cobo Arena as seen in the trailer for "Real Steel." The place where Nancy Kerrigan got attacked is now a robot fight club. The trailer screams Detroit. The Backside of America: What's in a Named Building? (Part 1)
http://backsideofamerica.blogspot.com/2013/12/whats-in-named-building.html
The Backside of America. It’s Really Big, Sometimes Beautiful and Always Worth a Second Look. Thursday, December 26, 2013. What's in a Named Building? Architects still design buildings with corporate names on them, but too often these days signs designating a business tend toward the ugly and temporary. The same is true of apartment buildings and condos - the name may be on a sign out front, but rarely it is etched into the stone. This is the Elks Lodge in Newton, Mass. December 26, 2013 at 9:17 AM.

Happy Opening Day! | Ain't No Party Like A Detroit Party
https://detroitparty.wordpress.com/2014/03/31/happy-opening-day
Ain't No Party Like A Detroit Party. We hope for better things; it shall rise from the ashes. Opening Day (of baseball season, obviously) is a big deal here in Detroit. People take off work to come downtown and tailgate, drink a lot, and have a good time (most of the time, they don’t even go to the game). For many, the official beginning of spring is Opening Day. It's definitely a big deal if it's on the marquee of The Fox. My apartment is always throwing a shindig for Opening Day. Date : March 31, 2014.

This Morning | Ain't No Party Like A Detroit Party
https://detroitparty.wordpress.com/2014/01/19/this-morning
Ain't No Party Like A Detroit Party. We hope for better things; it shall rise from the ashes. At Woodward and Mack, steam barrels out of sewer grates,. A pocket of fog two lanes wide, reminiscent of. The smog that forms over I-94 at Mount Elliot, ever present. Smoke that never clears, product of the weekly 3-alarms at Packard. This plus the desolation of Detroit at 7:30am has an eerie similarity. To some shit like Silent Hill, but instead of the smoke. Billowing out of a burning mine. Leave a Reply Cance...
