Improving on the inside: October 2014
http://developingalways.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Thoughts for the passionate, inquisitive, and eternally dissatisfied. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. Bull City Race Fest. I've read so many race reports where people underestimate their abilities and come out super triumphant . and this time, I'm one of them. Ha. I later found out that this runner is a friend of Susan's and one of her Ragnar buddies. And here is the guy next to me. Looking like he is having the time of his life. Good for him, but damn him. Would I run this race again? It was definitely a s...

Improving on the inside: February 2014
http://developingalways.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Thoughts for the passionate, inquisitive, and eternally dissatisfied. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Well, trying to avoid the real work I should be doing now. So. I'll update on my running progress for the week. Since I consulted Jerry, our Fleet Feet coach, I've made Mondays my tempo workouts and Thursdays my endurance runs. This week I had a "high" of almost 40 miles due to postponing my long run till Sunday (to try to let the snow melt). I kept pushing too fast (8:09), which is disastrous for race day...
Improving on the inside: November 2013
http://developingalways.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thoughts for the passionate, inquisitive, and eternally dissatisfied. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. The entire 26.2 miles can be summarized to this:. 19 miles of awesome, 4 miles of terrible, and 3.2 miles of tolerable. Those 4 miles. Only 4. And yet, they dictate my feelings about the entire race. So yeah, I didn't make my A goal (sub-3:50). I made the B goal (sub-4). And then. Mile 20 was where I lost my race. Aficionados. One, I was staying with (I spotted her boatneck sweater and had to ask her w...

Thoughts for the passionate, inquisitive, and eternally dissatisfied. Tuesday, December 10, 2013. Well, it's been awhile I've posted! I have, however, decided to participate in the Runner's World Magazine. I'm not doing any crazy mileage - just 1-2 miles to keep the streak alive. It's day 12, though! I got this. :). The past two weeks. Gallop and Gorge 8K: the first non-PR race of the year. Teammates convinced me to do this turkey trot with them and I thought, why not? Gallop and Gorge 8k. She was visiti...

Recipe: Southwestern Stuffed Acorn Squash. More Than Running →. October 27, 2014 · 9:13 am. 8211; but I still had every intention of racing the Philly Marathon. Well, sometimes life gives you lemons and lemonade all at once. Of course I’m bummed, but I know that in the grand scheme of things it isn’t that big of a deal. I’d much rather deal with the pain now, rather than during the race! So, onward and upward! Tagged as IT Band. Recipe: Southwestern Stuffed Acorn Squash. More Than Running →. I hate to se...
run where you like your steps : Ragnar Cape Cod
http://runwhereyoulike.blogspot.com/2014/05/ragnar-cape-cod.html
Run where you like your steps. Wednesday, May 14, 2014. This past weekend I ran my first Ragnar Relay with 12 other incredible women as team Flock You Like a Hurricane. It was by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life. It will be hard to put the weekend in to words, but I'll do my best. The journey began last fall when I saw rumblings on twitter about Ragnar Cape Cod and putting together a potential team from some Oiselle team members. Amy, and our fearless team captain, Stacey. After dinner,...
