Recon Platoon 1/16 1st Infantry Division, Vietnam '65 - '68. Saturday, July 18, 2009. Ambush, by Jeff Walton. A little story from me on how I got the nickname " The entrenching tool kid". It started one night as most ambush patrols do. Only this time we went out in a large unit, I think at least company size. We were going out to try and get some tax collectors, I think towards Bau Bang. Jeff Walton, Over. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Enter Recon's web site. Ambush, by Jeff Walton.

Recon Platoon 1/16 1st Infantry Division, Vietnam '65 - '68. Saturday, January 17, 2009. A soldier and the poodle. The train was quite crowded, so a returning soldier from the Big Red One walked the entire length looking for a seat, but the only seat left was taken by a well-dressed, middle-aged French woman's poodle. The war weary Vietnam Vet, "Ma'am, may I have that seat? I'm very tired" She snorted, "Not only are you Americans rude, you are also arrogant! Links to this post. Wednesday, January 7, 2009.
