The Distant Future… The Year 2000 | Dewey Ave.
https://deweyave.wordpress.com/2015/03/31/temporary-post-this-guy-needs-some-editing
My road to the library. The Distant Future… The Year 2000. March 31, 2015. May 12, 2015. Blog part one tumbling down the rabbit hole:. First, I’d like to apologize for the lack of charts, pictures, and animated gifs for the last several blogs. I scroll back through and it’s just words, words, words. Secondly, I’m really having trouble reining it in this week. Here’s where I got distracted:. Sari Feldman is president-elect of ALA? I thought Courtney Young was president? Is the Accumulibrary possible?
Out on my own | Dewey Ave.
https://deweyave.wordpress.com/2015/05/12/out-on-my-own
My road to the library. Out on my own. May 12, 2015. May 12, 2015. Now that the semester is over, I find it more difficult to blog. Inspiring incidents frequently come up at the library… but I forget about blogging them when I get home. Out here on my own, so to speak, I want to reflect, record, reach out… but a lack of structure gets me down. There’s also that pressure of what constitutes a real blog post. Not everything has to be remarkable! But nor does everything need to be remarked on.).

My road to the library. Commence the Bridge to “Rockin’ the Suburbs”. March 24, 2015. A quick note before we get started: I went to a sensory storytime presentation by Renee Grassi (and the folks at Lekotek) at Midwinter this year. I feel so cool and ahead of the game. Amber and I plan to do our webinar on services to children with special needs, and this article just dropped a bunch of extra resources in our laps. Thanks! It’s not enough to see your peers as true equals, or to treat all others with the ...
Let’s Get Practical | Dewey Ave.
https://deweyave.wordpress.com/2015/04/14/lets-get-practical
My road to the library. April 14, 2015. We did SO MUCH LEARNING this semester. The really impactful thing about what we have been learning is that it is all so practical (without seeming like a technical or trade course) and the skills and tools that we learned can be translated for almost endless possibilities. And, guys! I did a webinar! And I liked it! So what was most translatable? What seems most practical for me in my career? The Distant Future… The Year 2000. Out on my own. Enter your comment here.
Warning: This post not tied to course content | Dewey Ave.

My road to the library. Warning: This post not tied to course content. March 17, 2015. Hack Library School is awesome. It’s one of the blogs I have been following this semester, and I love it. There are several contributors, so there are many viewpoints represented and a lot of personalities and experiences to find relatable. A February post by Nancy Albers Shore sent me on a search for similar content; I just wanted to find another voice similar to mine! Lately, this is the mantra that I need. We are.

3 Reflection – Why Making?
https://whymaking.wordpress.com/2015/09/22/3-reflection
Exploring intersections of creation and community. I fear that the furrowed brow I wore while reading Debbie Chachra’s Why I Am Not a Maker makes me less of a feminist. I do have to agree that some of maker culture is more stereotypically male-centric; in particular, Dale Dougherty’s brand of making reads as gendered in this way. I am having trouble understanding how maker culture discounts teaching and caregiving, though. This is perhaps because I am not an insider. What kind of art? I get the impressio...

Exploring intersections of creation and community. Squishy Circuits (the short version). Look at the simple circuit I made! Use conductive dough to help electricity move through a circuit. Learning what it takes to make it in the smart-world of the modern library. Sustaining Our Library, Sustaining Our Relationships: Funders. January 19, 2015.
