On May 7, 2016 at 11:30 am on the DeWint House Grounds, an American Elm Tree was given by the Town of Orangetown to represent the historic Tar Barrel Elm which once stood in the middle of Oak Tree Road and had served as a beacon during the Revolutionary War.
