Notes from a WildCat Fan. Tuesday, August 26, 2008. Rodent Population = x - 1. Or what the womenfolk have to do when the menfolk decamp for Oregon. Or "New Miserable Experience"*. Warrior Princess and I took the dogs out for one last potty break last night. We observed approximately 5 rats in various positions on my bird feeder which is on a straight metal pole. I set a trap, such as the one to the left or up (or where ever blogger puts the damn picture! Holy living nightmare, Batman! I beat one to death...

Spiral Revolution: Poetry Thursday: Red/New Landscape
http://spiralrevolution.blogspot.com/2007/03/poetry-thursday-rednew-landscape.html
Whatever has light shone upon it itself becomes light. Wednesday, March 07, 2007. Poetry Thursday: Red/New Landscape. Hmmm, red. When you look the word 'red' up, you find that there are many different meanings, many different associations with this particular colour. When you think 'red' you could think angry, e.g. red rag to a bull; you could think embarassed, 'red as a beetroot' (they are, of course, a very dark red). You might think 'stop! Red tail of crayfish sidles in comfy. In that pregnant moon.

Notes from a WildCat Fan. Thursday, May 29, 2008. Stick a Fork in Me, I'm Done! School's out for Summer! Am I horribly misguided or is the other mom overprotective? Btw- her kid is terrific, very down to earth and trustworthy in my opinion.). Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Virginia is for Lovers. It was neatly covered by my floor length pink matron of honor gown. Virginia wine country: somewhere west of D.C. This is the grounds of the Strong Mansion. On Sugarloaf Mountain in Maryland:. Nieces as flower girls:.

Notes from a WildCat Fan. Sunday, March 30, 2008. The Raptors That Live Next Door. A pair of Red-shouldered Hawks have taken up residence in my neighborhood and it is nesting season. I managed to get a few shots of the female from my film camera. I think it's the female because according to my field guide, the females are larger and I've seen them together. In fact I observed them mating at this perch, but unfortunately I didn't get the avian porn on film. This is an Oregon Junco. Thursday, March 20, 2008.

Monday, August 31, 2009. Self portrait (two views after the last photo). Dear Gentle Reader,. Apsu and Tiamat were the primordial (Babylonian) progenitors of the universe. As Apsu said to his wife, Tiamat, in the Babylonian creation myth, the Enuma elish- when speaking of their children, the first pantheon of gods:. Their ways are verily loathsome unto me. By day I find no relief, nor repose by night. And, therefore, the two progenitors set about to annihilate their progeny. The one who can take pictures...

Thursday, March 25, 2010. Dear Gentle Reader,. It's 3WW time, again. This week the prompt words (for prose or poetry) are brazen, hunger, and nuzzle. I think I know what Thom, keeper of the words for 3WW, was thinking about this week. Your starter is a titled picture with, as always, a description if you run your mouse over the image. Then, as usual, I serve up three haiku/senryu, each with an American Sentence title. Sometimes the poetry is annotated, in green (sometimes heavily, sometimes not). From th...

Monday, June 29, 2009. Signal Tower at Blackhead Point, Hong Kong. Dear Gentle Reader,. The external walls of our apartment are, basically, windows. This spells good news for potential defenestrators. It also provides poor Pommes, your Hero, with a view on the world that he can no longer play in. Depending on how long you have been visiting here, you have seen the title view of this post. If I go a bit farther up my building, that view changes. One day I wondered what this building was. It was a once-a-d...

e-Cuneiform scratchings: What to do on a sultry day...
http://e-cuneiform.blogspot.com/2010/07/what-to-do-on-sultry-day.html
Friday, July 30, 2010. What to do on a sultry day. Dear Gentle Reader,. I am trying to get back into the e-swing of things. Even shaky babies can walk. So, how does that connect with the title image today? I'm advertising my shakiness, at least as regards to posting reliability. And that girl is advertising her beauty. Which you can get, too. From a tiny little hairstylist's place of business, in a rural town- Kaifeng, China. Hair stylists for her. Which is approximately 1.47 euros. Hence the high price.
