The Dexter Community Orchestra was founded in 2005. Please see our history. We are incorporated as a nonprofit in Michigan and are tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We adopted our bylaws. In 2006 and amended them as needed. You can also view our member handbook. Our music director is acclaimed cellist and conductor Anthony Elliott. We rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, usually at Dexter High School. Due to other events at the high school, we sometimes rehearse at Creekside Middle School Band Room. For the rest of the year, most of our rehearsals will be at Skyline High School Orchestra Room,. 225 N Maple Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103. Musicians interested in joining us may inquire. Mill Creek (NOT Creekside) Middle School Band Room. Concert 4:00PM DHS CPA. Monument Park (7pm concert).

The DCO proudly presents its 2016 Youth Artist Competition winner! He will be featured as soloist on our May 15 concert. About the Youth Artist Competition. The Dexter Community Orchestra holds an annual Youth Artist Competition. Winners receive a $300 prize and the opportunity to perform a concerto movement with the orchestra. Recording submission deadlines are in February, and the winner is featured in our May concert. Here is a list of past winners.

We usually rehearse and perform at Dexter High School, 2200 N Parker Rd, Dexter MI 48130. The auditorium and rehearsal rooms are in the back. Park down the hill next to the band entrance. Occasionally we rehearse at Mill Creek Middle School, 7305 Dexter Ann Arbor Rd. The band room is to the left of the main entrance. In June we perform at the Monument Park gazebo or Center for Performing Arts in the High School. Directions to Dexter HS. From I-94 exit 167, take Baker Road toward Dexter.
