Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Symphony and Eagle Lakes. When we returned to Anchorage, we hiked up to Symphony and Eagle Lakes on a beautifully clear morning. This little pond was just before we arrived at Eagle Lake. The scenery was so beautiful I had lost track of time and was startled to realize we were already at our destination! Eagle Lake is a long, skinny lake with a bright turquoise color. Symphony lake is a completely different color, a clear dark blue. We lunched on leftover Moose's Tooth pizza.

Monday, November 10, 2014. A very belated Halloween. In a belated effort, we carved our halloween pumpkins yesterday. I carved a lot in the hopes that some of them would survive the hungry moose (we have already had one casualty). Saturday, January 10, 2015. Day of Sun #3: Mt. Baldy. On our way back to Tok we stopped by Eagle River to hike Mt. Baldy, a short but brutal climb to a little knob from which you can continue to follow the ridge line to a series of cliffs called Blackwell Rocks. Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Morels at the end of the Rainbow. We were waiting patiently for the first good rains to arrive, because the mushrooms follow quickly after. Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The Chicago skyline above blue Lake Michigan, viewed from the Shedd Aquarium. After Matt's fantastic recital, we celebrated with champagne in the park.
