Archive for March, 2007. McMurdo, on the way home. March 5, 2007. Ok, so I’ve been sitting on this post for nearly a month…). The rest of the flight from the pole back to McMurdo was uneventful. I spent a good hour staring out the window at the passing mountains. Underneath – only the top of which poke through the snow and ice. The ice flows are amazing to see from the air. The thought of ‘will I ever see this again? I went and asked the load master if I could go up, but there was already someone up there.

My flight north to McMurdo is on the 1st, which is tomorrow. But since I’m working nights, it’s more like the day after tomorrow in that I have another work day at the end of which (when I usually go to bed) I’ll be getting on a plane. Posted in south pole. The continuing adventures of Dave at the South Pole. Wednesday, December 18, 2013. I'm in the Christchurch airport, waiting for my flight to Sydney. I've already hit the first delay of this leg of the trip, but I've got a lot of layover time so it shouldn't be a problem. In my last blog post I was flying to McMurdo. I obviously made it there. PANORAMA PICTURES
The panoramas we made using a Fuji 6800, Canon S50, and a Panasonic FZ8 digital camera. I have produced some panoramas using a programme called PixMaker, which I can highly recommend. You simply take a number of overlapping pictures, and the programme stitches them together.
