My blood sugar eggs-periment: Now I have egg on my face – DIABETIC DAD RUNS
http://diabeticdadruns.com/2015/07/31/my-blood-sugar-eggs-periment-now-i-have-egg-on-my-face
Can I outrun my midlife crisis across the Sahara desert? My blood sugar eggs-periment: Now I have egg on my face. Will eggs help keep my blood sugar levels stable while running? The answer is a resounding no. At least they won’t on their own. I posed this question a few weeks ago and began a little, ahem eggs-periment. In which I compared the difference between my blood sugar levels at the beginning and end of my runs. On some runs I ate a hardboiled egg, on others I didn’t. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

http://diabeticdadruns.com/2015/07/17/smoked-hamstrings-and-back-pain-can-i-stretch-out-of-it-before-my-marathon
Can I outrun my midlife crisis across the Sahara desert? Smoked hamstrings and back pain: can I stretch out of it before my marathon? So I’m starting a stretching programme. Stretching already takes up a lot of my time I do three sessions a day on my frozen shoulder and another on my hip flexors so on my physio’s advice I’m going to keep the hamstring stuff simple: a single session every day of three minute-long stretches on each leg, one to each side and another straight up (pictured). Read my full review of the Natural Ketosis diet on the blog next week. Training: Will yoga help kick the pain in my butt? And I look forward t...

http://diabeticdadruns.com/2015/08/17/review-can-natural-ketosis-help-diabetics-beat-the-odds-stacked-against-them
Can I outrun my midlife crisis across the Sahara desert? Review: Can Natural Ketosis help diabetics beat the odds stacked against them? Natural Ketosis: I signed up for the 28-day plan and received a month’s worth of pouched meals, snacks and breakfast pots and pouches. For breakfast: low carb, not no carb. On most days I had a mix of berries, full fut Greek yoghurt and low carb granola. In short, if low blood sugar levels or the build-up of ketones in your blood caused by higher levels don’t get y...

Can I outrun my midlife crisis across the Sahara desert? How diabetes gave me a kick up the arse and made life’s rewards sweeter. Why I’m blogging. July 6, 2015. This is partly new to me; blogging is new whilst trying to give up smoking and get fit is not. I am writing this blog for myself, to rationalise my thoughts and to assist me in my journey. I’m not sure if I want people to read it but figured it may help me achieve my goals. I have struggled for years to give up smoking and have always found reasons to continue, I want this to stop. I’m male, in my mid 30s and have 2 children. Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL. Laquo; First Run. July 9, 2015. I managed a second run last night. I pushed hard to go 4 miles in 38:23. I was hot but not too tired, which I’m taking as a sign that I’m not as unfit as I thought I was. My lungs feel like they have cleared considerably compared with my first run. My soles still hurt though! I’m now wondering how fast and far I could go if I didn’t smoke and wasn’t overweight. So I need to lose 40 lbs! I’m going to run again on Saturday. Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL. On Why I’...

The Ramblings of a Crafty Mum. Tips on Picking a Baby Name. August 3, 2015. Today I was sat in my Doctor’s surgery waiting for Marni to have her immunisations. I’ve got to admit that when I’m out and about with her, I can’t help but show her off. Yes, I genuinely believe that she is the most gorgeous baby around (my eldest isn’t a baby any more so I feel I can say that without being hit with the Guilt Racket too hard.). Said individual, upon hearing Marni’s name, instantly declared the following:. On thi...

Laura Jane writes …. A very poorly disguised mummy blog. Struggling to find the right words? 20 ways to annoy the hell out of your toddler. September 22, 2015. Has anyone else made the epic mistake of flushing the toilet for their toddler? Don’t do it. Ever. He spends a lot of his time being generally miserable (you’ll see). He’s blogging about it here. Cakes, and anything to do with Peppa Pig. Oh, and purple. This is Little B. It is, of course, still distantly related to it. I say 'of course' because it's usually the case that any other health issues aside from good old type 1 D are either caused by, or have something to do with, the fiendish workings of diabetes itself.
