Also, seeing this art reminds of a time I ran into Kirby in San Diego and asked him if there were any inkers he didnt like seeing on his work. I think he said something gentlemanly like Nah, how about you? Like I had insulted his brother. May 1, 2012 at 7:58 PM. Kirby never much cared who inked him. Mike Royer was his favorite though. Ive often thought about how ludicrous that scene was, but how perfectly 1960s Marvel it is at the same time. As a friend of mine once said, a great way to demonstrate the Hulks strength, without getting too rowdy. May 4, 2012 at 8:14 AM. For some reason, they left that scene out of the movie. Funny part is, Mickey Demeo was the alias of Mike Esposito, Ross Andrus long-time inker. Did you like Andru any better when someone else inked him? Maybe it was just Esposito making Andru look bad to you. Besides, Andru didnt draw that Strange Tales Annual #2, it was way too early for that. He was too busy making Wonder Woman unreadable.
