Wednesday, May 30, 2012. The bunker crews added sand to the final bunker on #18 yesterday evening. They have just the drain pipe to finish in front of that green and the process will be complete. Before the drain pipe was replaced, we cut the sod from this area and used it to repair the right side of #10 fairway. Friday, July 27, 2012. It hasn't taken long to jump right in to 100 degree days. We have been very busy maintaining and improving our golf course. Here is a rundown on what we have and have had going on:. The course was also fertilized this past Monday. This slow release fertilizer will feed the turf for the remaining growing season. Next Monday, I will be making an application to the green and tee complexes to control goose grass, crab grass and nut sedge. Thanks and have a great August!

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. I just wanted to give an update on the status of the golf course after the heavy rains last week. We received a total of 5.25 inches from last Tuesday afternoon through Thursday morning. On Wednesday morning, the creek rose out of the banks and covered much of the golf course. Fortunately, it had receded by Wednesday afternoon. However we were left with quite a mess! The following is a list of items we are currently in the process of tackling:. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. We verticut in 4 different directions. The material brought to the surface by the vertical mower was then blown off the green. Walk mowers were used to mow the greens and also help smooth the surface. Once the turf was completely dry, we mowed again with the tri-plex mower to pick up even more material. Bailey Ranch Golf Maintenance. Monday, November 24, 2014. Removing old cart path. Last week, staff began the process of removing the old asphalt and concrete to make way for the new material. Once the old cart path was out of our way, forms were installed and new gravel was added, then compacted. Long pieces of re-bar steel were laid in a grid pattern on top of the gravel to give the new concrete additional strength and guard. New gravel base being compacted. Brushing the concrete provides traction.

Bailey Ranch Golf Maintenance. Monday, July 28, 2014. Rough at edge of fairway on #11. Over the past few weeks, staff has been working hard to get all the native areas and pond banks cut down. Mowing these areas 2-3 times a year helps to clean out all woody plants and gives the native grasses the advantage.
