Diana Papili's Blog

Sunday, October 20, 2013. Rejection Is God's Greatest Form of Protection. I was sitting on a beach at Payette Lake. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon and I finally relaxed after a hubbub of activities and a week of work. I was attending a women's retreat at a children's summer camp for the eleventh consecutive year. This camp is my home every third weekend in October," I recently told its ever-diligent administrators. A friend asked if she could pull up a chair and sit beside me. I surveyed my past and s...

Diana Papili's Blog: January 2011

http://www.dianapapili.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 28, 2011. If beating myself up changed me, I would be changed. Regret, simply put, is anger and resentment directed toward oneself. Sometimes, I am the most difficult person to forgive. However, there is a process I completed to facilitate that. Anger and regret are real emotions. It's OK to experience them. However, to hold on to them is like storing acid in a metal container. It eventually destroys the container. Links to this post. Friday, January 21, 2011. Regret, Part 1. At the onset...

Diana Papili's Blog: March 2011

http://www.dianapapili.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 11, 2011. I've been burning the candle at both ends these past couple of weeks. So today, with the exception of one short phone meeting with a client, I cleared my schedule. I have two conflicting events tomorrow. It's quite possible I will attend neither. We'll see. Maybe I'll do nothing. I have a great routine most days and I follow it well. Routine be damned today! Yes, I'm getting work done. Yes, I'm a devout Weight Watchers member and leader so I'm tracking all that I eat. Yes,...After...

Diana Papili's Blog: February 2011

http://www.dianapapili.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Bloom Where I'm Planted. I've lived in six different states - Illinois, Florida, Nevada, California, Montana and now Idaho. It may be a paradox, but my two favorite domiciles are Florida and Montana, the latter one being where I've always felt most at home. I made the sojourn to Idaho from Montana when I married. Although I've never really felt fully at home here, it's where I hang my hat and after eight plus years, I think it's time I adjust! Links to this post.

Diana Papili's Blog: "My People"

http://www.dianapapili.blogspot.com/2012/12/my-people.html

Monday, December 24, 2012. Ever since my husband passed away in April, I wanted to visit my family of origin, to be with “my people.” Both my parents are still alive. Although Mom is in the mid-stages of dementia, I knew she would be of great comfort to me. Dad, too. I reflected on the same time only a year earlier. My father wanted to return to his childhood and be with “his people” to celebrate his 92. David was gone. I was grief-stricken and needed to be strong. I inherited a lawsuit that left...Of co...

Are going to revalidate the role of artists and users that are growing in a cultural event of great importance in our lives: the music. To make millions of teenagers, eager to live their music, look like criminals.
