It's one of those recipes that isn't necessarily difficult, just time consuming- but I must say worth every minute! If you (or the one you love) is a chocolate fan, this is the cake for you. Sunday, June 20, 2010. This is the wonderful season for great summer fruit. I like. Apples, tangerines, bananas, and grapefruit, but I love. Watermelon, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, peaches, cantaloupe and honeydew. I am willing to pay higher prices during the off season to get these fruits if they are shipped in and tasteful. This recipe comes from one of those wonderful strangers-turned-friends, who just happens to be a fantastic cook. I love it because it cooks up super-fast, and the end result is much less crumbly (read: less messy) than regular cornbread. St Thomas Rice Dish. The kind in a box (like Lipton). Brown the sausage in a large skillet. Pour off any excess fat. Add green pepper, onion, and celery as desired and return to stove. Saute until tender. Combine the Lipton soup and boiling water in a sauce pan. Stir in the rice. Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Add the sausage mix and salt to the Lipton/rice sauce pan. Mix well. Pour into greased baking dish (8x8). Sprinkle with almonds and drizzle with melted butter. Bake 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
