Some Dogs Won’t Hunt | diaryofadogpusher
https://diaryofadogpusher.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/some-dogs-wont-hunt/comment-page-1
Musings about dog addiction. August 10, 2015. Some Dogs Won’t Hunt. Gunter, the little found puppy I recently placed. Great fit with his family. As a trainer, I see a lot of dogs that work, and do amazing things, for their owners. Often, I can fix these issues and the handler and the dog are happy, healthy, and continue on forever happy, with just a little bit of assistance and tweaking. And some dogs just won’t hunt. And that’s ok – the working person simply places the dog elsewhere, in a ho...I find my...

Musings about dog addiction. Snarky, unproductive comments (You’re a misogynist! Will simply be deleted because I’m far too lazy to argue with ideologues and I don’t like giving them a platform to argue from on my work. It’s unproductive and only reinforces their ideology, as outlined on this lovely post by a different blogger: http:/ blogs.agu.org/wildwildscience/2013/08/13/why-arguing-with-a-wing-nut-is-actually-more-than-just-a-waste-of-time/. Musings about dog addiction. September 9, 2013. Two dogs enjoying some offleash time – oh wait, they’re both wearing ecollars! They can’t be enjoying themselves, can they? I am a balanced trainer. I’ve got a lot of tools in my bag-o-tricks, including my voice, my hands, my feet, my hips, my eyes, my body posture, niblets of treats, the. Every moment in a dog’s life is “training” because all training is learning. A good example of why I am a balanced trainer is because of an incident when Dax was a puppy.
“Sickening” | diaryofadogpusher

Musings about dog addiction. February 9, 2015. Apparently, the rescue world has become so weird that even if you find a stray dog, do your due diligence to locate the owner with flyers, contacts, internet postings, etc. and cannot;. The dog under your care without compensation, and interview and vet multiple adopters in an effort to find this stray dog a home, it’s still sickening because dog rehoming can only be done by “reputable rescue shelters”. Despite continuing narrative of pet overpopulation.

Musings about dog addiction. September 19, 2014. A Thought about Death, Dogs, and Working Snobs. I had occasion recently to consider what should be the fate of dogs if their trainer dies. Dogs are a craft, almost a religion, to trainers. We put thousands hours of hard work, and so many countless heartaches and long nights contemplating ethics, strategies, and learning with our dogs and ourselves. I put it the other day that Mika is my “fifth limb” – and it’s true. Do you let the dog stay with your family?

DIARY OF A DOG BISCUIT
DIARY OF A DOG BISCUIT. My truth will be discovered in the telling of my tales. A Journey Back To Whole. Thursday, February 2, 2012. I am currently helping out a theatre company in Philadelphia called the Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium. It's a mouthful I know, but they are a truly talented and dedicated theatre company, worthy of every hard earned dime we can rustle up to aide them on their creative journey. Though it was written in 1833, it is, eerily similar to modern matchmaking that happens, on ...
