Blacksheep: December 2006
http://blacksheepwalking.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 22, 2006. It looks like I am making a Christmas dinner after all. I thought I was going to be able to get out of it, but hubby's dad doesn't have anywhere to go and I don't feel right knowing that someone is sitting at home by themselves on Christmas so we are having him over for dinner Christmas eve. Anyhow, I don't have a whole lot of time but I want to tell everyone to have a wonderful holiday, I hope it is everything you want it to be and more. Merry Christmas! I have now had to burn...

what the???: July 2006
http://gettingpastthefreaks.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
One I like to read. Monday, July 31, 2006. Hypothetically. Let's say I met up with a girl from online and while on the date, she said. I joined the website because my friend and I made a bet that if we hit 30 and weren't dating anyone, we would join. Well, I hit 30 a couple of weeks ago. Meanwhile my friend is almost engaged. But, I made the bet, so I went through with it.". Does that mean that she went out with me because she lost a bet? Posted by biffm at 2:47 PM. Wednesday, July 26, 2006. I had no clue.

Summertime Steve: Perfect Scrambled Eggs
http://summertimesteve.blogspot.com/2011/10/perfect-scrambled-eggs.html
Beat the eggs in a small bowl; mix with salt and pepper – add 4 tsp water to help yolk and egg blend. Melt 2 Tb of butter for later and set it aside to cool. Butter the pan with 2 Tb of butter, pour in the eggs, and let warm over medium-low heat. Stir constantly. Wait until it starts to thicken– this will take several minutes before anything happens – and then stir more, constantly, quickly until they are a bit dryer than you want. Seriously - by hand. Summertime Steve: Rational Hookers
http://summertimesteve.blogspot.com/2011/10/rational-hookers.html
We all face budget crunches. How tragic, then, that the best therapy is retail therapy. How tempting to indulge, but when you do, you can never look at the price, because the price is always “too much.”. Thirty bucks. An iPod? Do you really need that, Steven? It works like this:. I went rock-climbing tonight. It cost about $35 bucks for two and a half hours. A decent escort would cost at least $150. Of entertainment, when a hooker would cost three times that for one hour! View my complete profile. Racial...

Summertime Steve: August 2011

Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been. Have you ever known a suicidally depressed person? Several members of my family have faced depression and self-injury. Suicide is four times more common among gay youth than it is among their straight counterparts, in part because of hateful rhetoric and hate crimes against gay men and women. I do not usually talk about this issue because it is difficult to talk about. Nevertheless, after a conversation today, I feel that it must be discussed. Ask you for help. To ask ...

Summertime Steve: June 2011
http://summertimesteve.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
By moving to Florida I make myself a family freak. My mother’s clan is a tight-knit group. Tight as in Chinese finger puzzle. When one of them lived in Ashland in the 60’s, they all. Lived in Ashland; when one got a job for Kodak they all. Moved to the city. My Great-Aunt Sadie lives in the same house she grew up in, right next door to the same cousin she’s always lived next door to. She is a comfortable queen-bee of a woman, round and regal. The only change in her life comes from her pet bulldogs. If yo...

Summertime Steve: Miss Saigon
http://summertimesteve.blogspot.com/2011/09/miss-saigon.html
I am going bald. I must admit the truth. The mirror doesn’t lie. It really doesn’t lie when you take your full-length mirror off the back of your door, carry it into the bathroom, and hold it above your head at an angle while occasionally bumping into things. My front is thinning and my cowlick has been licked away. Then he mentions his Vietnamese fiance. He has never met her in-person. Charlie gives a great. Should I go back to Charlie? Summertime Steve: I Wonder
http://summertimesteve.blogspot.com/2011/10/i-wonder.html
I work with kids. I host Study Sessions at the local library, and they come in two by two for math, reading, and help tying shoes. They come with their parents. In this library, many of the parents are Haitian Creole, and often, they do not speak English. As I work with them, I wonder: what is it like to be that parent? To have a daughter who translates for you at the checkout desk? Americanization. It happens, and as an English tutor, I'm a part of it; I'm making. If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
