Six One Six: Why I May Never Be A Mom
http://www.sixonesixblog.com/2013/08/why-i-may-never-be-mom.html
Why I May Never Be A Mom. Maybe I always knew and just didn't want to believe it, but I'm realizing lately that being a mommy is most likely not in my future. I'm gonna be in my mid 30's pretty soon. I never wanted to be an older mom. I don't wanna be putting my kid on the school bus when I'm in my 40's. I'm not saying 30's and 40's are old years, at all! I just don't want to be a first time mom at that age. It's harder when you're older, my mom had my sister at 42, and I could see it is hard! But then I...

Autism, blended family and trying to keep together. November 29, 2013. She has come such a long way. Today I asked her if she saw the baby’s bottle, without skipping a beat she said “The bottle, where is it? 8221; and started to search for it with me. Then after I put the baby down for a nap she looked at me and said “(insert baby’s name)’s crying, wake up baby”. The baby was not crying, this was her way of saying she wanted me to go get him, she missed him! The perils of being undiagnosed. It can help w...

Life on the Spectrum. Fourteen Things Not to Say to an Autistic Adult. August 5, 2014. Last night somebody shared an article on Facebook. The article was called “Things never to say to parents of a child with autism.” A comment on the article asked why there wasn’t one about things not to say to an autistic adult. I decided to write that article. It’s based on not only my experience, but also the experiences of my autistic friends. 1) “You don’t look autistic.”. 4) “Are you like Rainman? Rainman was a fi...

Things to make an autism daddy smile. July 21, 2014. We got a great deal from a local cake maker. Delicious caramel chocolate, and enough for everybody! Plus it had Dmitry’s favorite: gears and stars. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:. Address never made public). Dmitry is Swimming! | Dmitry Laughs
https://dmitrylaughs.wordpress.com/2014/06/13/dmitry-is-swimming
Things to make an autism daddy smile. June 13, 2014. Not even four years old yet and we took the life vest off him last week. He can tread water and doggie paddle a little, but he’s really starting to become an excellent swimmer! Best of all, he looks PROUD of himself when he swims! He looks at us and smiles and… almost puts himself up for “exhibition”. This can only be considered progress. I’ve talked about it before. This entry was tagged Autism. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
