Eugene's big adventure: May 2010
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Monday, 31 May 2010. Epic day of snorkling adventure! Well, it's currently 15.41 and already it has been an epic day. Am currently exhausted and writing this on James' computer so any spelling mistakes, please forgive. So, today me and Mike went to the Blue Cave for some snorkling. His wife came with us, not to snork (or whatever the term is, though I like that. to snork) but to translate, liase and generally chill. This is the cliff edge! We got a ...

Eugene's big adventure: January 2010
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Thursday, 21 January 2010. Yesterday had to restrain someone at work. Managed to bang my elbow fairy hard and now it's all swollen. Keep whacking it on things as well. I think I've always whacked my elbow on things and just not noticed, but now that it's all bruised I'm really feeling it. Anyway, yesterday's training was boxing in morning and then managed to grab forty minutes between shifts in the evening to do the following:. Warm up : mobility.

Eugene's big adventure: Back
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2012/02/back.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Thursday, 16 February 2012. It's been a while, hasn't it? Lots has changed. Japan is waaaay in my past now and I'm missing it, of course, but there are new adventures to be had and new things to be doing. My hand/eye coordination has improved under Fraser, as has my general sparring ability: I use my weight to great advantage, I wait things out, I plot and execute moves. My mind game has certainly improved. Weight is coming off now, a stone since Ch...

Eugene's big adventure: Things
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2010/08/things.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Thursday, 26 August 2010. It ain't nice when your parents get sick, is it? So, this last week, what have I been doing? Ran to the Church and back, then 12 pull ups. Shadow boxing for 20 minutes. Tried out different combos and different ways of stepping into things and generating force as you move into and through your target. Got a few nice ideas there I need to try on Fraz and Pete. Feeling sore and stiff. Did stretching, isometrics and Ki. Jogged ...

Eugene's big adventure: Doo doo doo
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2010/08/doo-doo-doo.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Tuesday, 17 August 2010. Part of me does wish that I wasn't in Ireland. I'm missing the Crossing the Pond Seminar and it looks so damn good. Ah well, such is life. Another part of me is very glad that I'm here, chilling with my folks and watching as Dad gets better and better. Well, after Sunday's amazing weather, yesterday was terrible! Training wise I got myself to the gym and did the following:. Pull ups (at gran's) 11. I dunno what it is about m...

Eugene's big adventure: June 2010
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Sunday, 27 June 2010. Two days of exploring. So yesterday I went to America! The British armed forces have nothing like this. Basically Rodney rang me up on Saturday morning and asked if I had any plans. I had none so we decided to go to Kadena, pick up supplies and then head on out to a beach he knew. So that's what we did, stopping by in Kadena to try out US life. All red meat, not too much fish really. Not big on fish are Americans, it seems.

Eugene's big adventure: Thursday
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/2010/08/thursday.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. Thursday, 12 August 2010. My calves have ached today, and it's an ache that has slowly increased. Which is good, in its way, as my calves can take a hell of a pounding and recover quickly, so my run yesterday was clearly hard on them, and I managed to keep myself on the balls of my feet the whole way, which is good. Bench, squat rack, 170k of weight. Oh yeah. I was so happy. Here's what I did:. Deep squat held for over a minute (easy too). There are...

Eugene's big adventure: The Origins of British Jujitsu
http://eugenesbigadventure.blogspot.com/p/origins-of-british-jujitsu.html
I'm in Japan and this is a blog charting my adventures. The Origins of British Jujitsu. The origins and development of British Jujitsu. The Kano players then jumped on them and were eaten alive by the superior Fusen Ryu ground fighting skills. It was the first loss suffered by Kano jujistu in 8 years, and Kano being Kano, he went off and learnt everything there was to learn about ground fighting and then incorporated it into his jujitsu,. Two of the instructors that Barton Wright brought over with him we...
