The year of post-it-notes and mindfulness - Kristine Lowe

http://kristinelowe.blogs.com/kristine_lowe/2015/01/the-year-of-post-it-notes-and-mindfulness.html

The last edition of The Journalist. The end of Mecom. The year of post-it-notes and mindfulness. January 12, 2015. For a nethead and digerati like myself, 2014 was a year of ironies. For one, if I was to name the go-to-tool that played the most pivotal role for me at work last year, it has to be post-it-notes -  and then there was that whole mindfulness business. And last year, I sort of re-discovered and came to lean heavily on post-it-notes - of all things. Besides, over the last few years I’ve found m...

Musings on work as a freelance editor and proofreader whilst also being a SAHM. Saturday, 11 April 2009. Four years of being free(lance). Just over a year ago I write this. Post The last year has been tumultuous at best and I'm not going to repeat the process here. Thankfully I have just about managed to recover the loss of work last year with the work I secured in the first two months of 2009. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Slow Smoulder: October 2008

http://the-slow-smoulder.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, 28 October 2008. Going faster during the slow-down. Richard Noble and Andy Green, who achieved the world landspeed record in 1997, last week announced that they want to go even faster. 1000 mph in fact. We can expect to see this in 2011. The BBC announced this news on the same day that Governor of the Bank of England uttered "Recession" on Radio Four's Today. Not playable online]). This project has the experience to fulfill its goal, regardless of a recession. Have risen 300% in Germany this year.

The last edition of The Journalist - Kristine Lowe

http://kristinelowe.blogs.com/kristine_lowe/2014/12/the-last-edition-of-the-journalist.html

Is 2014 the year of Buzzfeed copycats? The year of post-it-notes and mindfulness. The last edition of The Journalist. December 21, 2014. This Friday the very last edition of The Journalist’s 98 year old print magazine was published, thereby ending a chapter in Norwegian press history. The Journalist is the last of two Norwegian media magazines throwing in the towel, with media and marketing magazine Kampanje publishing its last edition in November. After 50 years of publishing. The Jounalist is a former ...

The Slow Smoulder: We are shown but we don't want to see

http://the-slow-smoulder.blogspot.com/2008/11/we-are-shown-but-we-dont-want-to-see.html

Sunday, 30 November 2008. We are shown but we don't want to see. Barnardos' new video Breaking the Cycle. Is shocking. Will it be banned like their 2003 campaign, which featured a cockroach coming out of a baby's mouth? Let us hope not. The outrage hasn’t started in earnest yet, but it seems certain it will do. There are already angry comments such as " they'll stoop to any level to get money nowadays. Some parents fear for their children because they might see it while watching X Factor. In this way eit...

The Slow Smoulder: Neighbours for the homeless

http://the-slow-smoulder.blogspot.com/2008/12/neighbours-for-homeless.html

Saturday, 6 December 2008. Neighbours for the homeless. I have written already about good humanity. To look after its own. Here is another issue. We did actually walk past The Big Issue. Aberdeen council no longer wants homeless people begging. On the streets, so they have put up begging boxes for people to put money in, rather than straight into hats on the street. My partner and I didn't see these but let's say they are collecting money that the council can use. But the council has closed.

ms_well.words: McKean’s law – my new motto

http://mswellwords.blogspot.com/2009/01/mckeans-law-my-new-motto.html

Random thoughts from a writer/editor's desk-top. Thursday, 15 January 2009. McKean’s law – my new motto. I hadn’t heard of Erin McKean. Until this morning, but she’s clearly a woman after my own heart:. 8220;Any correction of the speech or writing of others will contain at least one grammatical, spelling, or typographical error.”. The Deva Station: Pressing matters - when papers get blogging

http://madeincheshire.blogspot.com/2008/02/pressing-matters-when-papers-get.html

Made in Cheshire - a roll call of Chester blogs. Sunday, 17 February 2008. Pressing matters - when papers get blogging. Two of our local newspapers, the Chester Chronicle and the Chester Evening Leader, are now offering blogging facilities on their websites to readers. Of the five on the Chronicle's site, one looked potentially interesting as it seemed to be about the Literature Festival. And is quite entertaining, and the fifth is the personal blog of Chronicle columnist John Buckley. Posted by Louise B.

From A Woman's Heart

From A Woman's Heart. Sunday, June 21, 2009. We are six days away from the wedding of my son. He's chosen a precious young lady with whom to spend his life and they both love the Lord with all their hearts. She is already a part of our family and we welcome our new "daughter.". As with my daughters, our relationship with our son has changed from parent/child to friend/friend. That takes some effort on my part to remember that! Am I afraid of having an empty nest? Diary of a Woo Girl | Your guide to all the things to woo about!

Diary of a Woo Girl. Your guide to all the things to woo about! About the Blog and the Resident Woo Girl. Summary of Saint Patrick’s Day. March 22, 2011. As a tribute to our Pats, here is a summary. Most of my friends decided that they cannot possibly party on Thursdays, so my group was smaller than imagined. Also Steph had a wedding to attend (not as awesome as it sounds), so I missed her terribly. But I still had a decent sized group and a good time, so I was happy. Pink cowboy hats worn: Zero. Diary of A Worker Bee. Diary of a Worker Bee.Interior Design, Staging, and everything in between. Perspective: A Man’s Take on Faux Fur Decor. October 18, 2013. Living and loving an interior designer I have come around to certain aspects of design. Some begrudgingly like making a bed, then making a bed well. Others enthusiastically, such as enjoying the comforts of a great bed, says Mark, But, when it comes to pillows I’m out of my element. Diary Of A Working Girl | Making a name for myself

Diary Of A Working Girl. Making a name for myself. Why I’m here. Leave a comment ». I knew that choosing the title ‘diary of a working girl’ would have some thinking “ooh, what kind of working girl.” Frankly, I didn’t care.
