Friday, 24 January 2014. A quick top and two quick dresses. A couple of things from the end of 2013 to catch up on, all quick makes. Frankensteined onto my stretch block, with a low-ish round neckline. These were whipped up before going back to the UK in November, with the intention of being warm and comfy travelling outfits. Wednesday, 4 June 2014. I love wearing maxi-dresses in the summer, so easy to wear and also so comfortable. Despite this, I only have a couple that I regularly wear, and have put off making them for ages because I find cutting out large pattern pieces kind of annoying. Tuesday, 20 January 2015. The cowl is simply a tube knitted in the round in twisted stocking stitch (alternate rounds of k into back of loop and k as normal), with three rows of k1 p1 rib at each end. I used one ball of Rico Creative Bonbon super chunky. I chose this lovely variegated purply colourway (that was also half price in pre-Christmas sales.) as I thought it's vaguely masculine without being boring black or navy, and also would look good against his grey and blond colouring. I used this pattern.

Why not try and make a plan and then stick to it? The making of a plan. Fabric with a plan. Three pieces of stash fabric every month. Considering my personal sewing record (I think it was 80 items during 2011), I am not overly concerned about not being able to sew all of this in six months, but I do wary the need for eighteen new garments in my wardrobe. Some things, like for instance a couple of new special occasion dresses, are clearly gone missing. Sewing with a plan. The need for a garment like that.
