Fuzzy's Dicecapades: October 2015
http://fuzzys-dice.blogspot.com/2015_10_01_archive.html
Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Wednesday, October 28, 2015. When is it okay to kill PCs? I have no qualms about killing player characters in B/X, mainly because of the fact that players seem to be inherently less strongly attached to their characters than in the more "crunchy" games. In part, this is because the time spent creating a character is halved or even quartered. Here's the entire process we went through, start to finish. Saving throws: copied out of the table in the Basic Rulebook. Half an hour&#...

Fuzzy's Dicecapades: January 2016
http://fuzzys-dice.blogspot.com/2016_01_01_archive.html
Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Saturday, January 30, 2016. Gender and Gaming: my experiences. This is obviously not intended to be a comprehensive, dissertation-level treatise on how women are represented and portrayed in tabletop gaming. It's just a few notes on how the gender makeup of my games has changed over time. The group I'm running now has a rotating cast, but what appears to be the most stable set of players is much like my first group: LO, B (a mutual friend of MC), CC, and a veteran gamer I'll ...

Fuzzy's Dicecapades: May 2016

Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Saturday, May 14, 2016. My A to Z Reflection post. Just thought I'd share the reason that I won't be returning for next year's Challenge (this is copy-pasted from the survey I took):. My few semi-regular readers will undoubtedly have noticed that I've been mostly quiet since finishing the Challenge, and this is why. The key word to take away from this is burnout. So hiatus, I suppose? Blogging From A to Z Challenge. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogging From A to Z. Witch and ...

Fuzzy's Dicecapades: The Mithgar Dilemma
http://fuzzys-dice.blogspot.com/2016/08/the-mithgar-dilemma.html
Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Wednesday, August 17, 2016. When I was sketching out the campaign, I quickly decided that I didn't want to have any entire race that is evil. The big reason for that is the racist overtones that would carry, especially if said race is partly or wholly based on a real-world culture, but a second reason is that I don't like stereotypes in general, and more can be gained from being optimistic about human (humanoid? Fuzzy's Dicecapades: For Gold & Glory: First Impressions
http://fuzzys-dice.blogspot.com/2016/09/for-gold-glory-first-impressions.html
Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Thursday, September 8, 2016. For Gold and Glory: First Impressions. My copy of For Gold and Glory. Just arrived in the mail today! It arrived much sooner than expected, which is fortunate since I'm planning to get my AD&D game back on its feet in the next few weeks. I'm looking forward to having a single-book rules reference to use in-game, and I'll likely post a more in-depth review of it once I've actually gotten to use it as such. For Gold and Glory. Fuzzy's Dicecapades: October 2016
http://fuzzys-dice.blogspot.com/2016_10_01_archive.html
Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Monday, October 17, 2016. Running the Funnel in B/X. The other concern was the order of actions. In a group of four to eight player characters, it's not extremely important who goes in what order on the same side. but with twenty-one characters in play, it gets a little chaotic. Next time, I'll probably just go clockwise around the table. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogging From A to Z. View my complete profile. Running the Funnel in B/X. The Tao of D&D. Fuzzy's Dicecapades: July 2016

Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Thursday, July 28, 2016. A Belated Gygax Day. I completely forgot to write a post about Gygax's birthday yesterday, but I thought this might tickle one or more fancies. Everyone was stunned, and I chuckled to myself. "Synchronicity at work, people." :D. Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Games I Will Never Run. Here's a short list of games that I will never DM/GM, for any number of reasons. Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. The World of Darkness. The system isn't too bad, and my brie...

Fuzzy's Dicecapades: Back in the Ring
http://fuzzys-dice.blogspot.com/2016/12/back-in-ring.html
Assorted Mishaps and Mayhem. Saturday, December 10, 2016. Back in the Ring. Well, it has been a while since my last post. This semester was rough on both me and most of my players, to the extent that I didn't get to run anything. This campaign in particular was one I've been itching to get back on its feet. According to the notes of one player, the last time we played it was in June. Valid rules-wise. Some of the changes I've made include:. And some from the Cook and Marsh Expert Rulebook. Adding the ass...
