I've moved to Pinterest. Having been a bit short on time lately due to changes in my job, I’ve been finding it hard to get the time to update my MozBlog and I started to use Pinterest on my phone to document images that I found interesting. It’s been a really useful tool for my professional work and for tracking things of interest to me so I’ve decided its time to make a link here so you can have a look. Charles Young - Paperholm. Monday, 31 October 2011. Taking tablets and doing art. Anyway, to get to the point I've been drawing. In an attempt to keep misery at bay for the remaining two weeks of my good lady's 3 months in India I had a go at sketching a side profile and giving it some digital wizardry. This one was heavily inspired by Diego Fernandez. Wednesday, 26 October 2011. I'm intrigued to see what's next. For more of my work. In other news The Seahawks. That's all for now, take care,. Carolina Does Art: April 2012
http://carolinadoesart.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 21, 2012. You'd think I've been busy or something. Painting stopped being fun after my last post, so I stopped doing it. I've been reading instead and it's been great. I made some more bookmarks for myself and although Paquita (my laminator) started out being grumpy and uncooperative, she eventually came around and we've rekindled our friendship. Oswald (my easel), on the other hand, has been sulking in a corner for the past five weeks. I'll have to give him a pep talk soon. It's been a p...

Carolina Does Art: I decided to be brave
http://carolinadoesart.blogspot.com/2012/11/i-decided-to-be-brave.html
Thursday, November 29, 2012. I decided to be brave. I emailed Adam Rex, who gave me a super nice and thorough reply. I asked for general advice on putting a portfolio together, particularly for children's book illustrations, and here is what he said:. You definitely want pieces that feature kids, and hopefully some that feature multiple kids interacting. Show them that you can do backgrounds. Environments with mundane objects like cars and electric mixers can't hurt either. And he also said:. We saw some...

Friday, November 25, 2011. Tigers cookies Dr. Seuss. Sleep is a beautiful, magical thing, especially when I get at least eight solid hours of it. However, it seems that whenever I do I have the weirdest, most frustrating dreams. All I wanted was to get a gate that could keep the tigers out but I didn't own the house and the owner refused to change the gates because she really liked her nine gates. You might be wondering, "Well why didn't you just move out, silly? Even if I woke up with a stiff neck.

Tuesday, September 18, 2012. Anouk (i.e. my wife) gave me the cutest little music box. It plays "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" when you crank it. It's adorable and I love it! I wish I could find a music box that played this song. Too That would be dope). And now for some artwork. Oil on canvas board 8"x10". And some figure drawings from last Friday. Finally, some party cats to brighten your day! Unless you're a cranky troll and don't like party cats. In which case I encourage you to gtfo). Is that a wasp?
