http://blog.doyoueat.com.au/2011/11/recipe-humble-hamburger.html
Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Recipe: The Humble Hamburger. Written by Kate Bullen, APD. It has been a while since I wrote a blog post - sorry to anyone who might have been missing them! Unfortunately had a chest infection, but am back and feeling much better! Hamburgers are something that we make at home quite often. They are a great healthy meal, and fantastic meal that can be eaten earlier by the kids, and then a bit later by the adults. Also great as leftovers. 4 tablespoons sundried tomatoes, diced.

Dietitian Online Blog: August 2011
http://blog.doyoueat.com.au/2011_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Written by Kate Bullen, APD. My husband surprised me with a few gourmet varieties of mushrooms as part of the weekly fruit and veg shop that he does – oyster and non-shimeji (which I think are also called enokitake) and some standard mushrooms. I also bought some swiss brown mushrooms to add to my collection and made a most delicious mushroom risotto. So what is in mushrooms? Well not much to be perfectly honest! Mushrooms typically don’t last long after purchase so best...

Dietitian Online Blog: Vegetables - how much should we eat?

Friday, May 6, 2011. Vegetables - how much should we eat? Written by Kate Bullen, APD. One question that I often get asked is about serve sizes. People are often interested in how much they should be serving up on their plates – and this is a really important area to understand, as I really think that portion control and large serve sizes (would you like to upsize that? Is one of the big reasons we have such an obesity problem. So how much is a serve of vegetables? 75 g or ½ cup cooked vegetables. Rememb...

Dietitian Online Blog: Product Review - Nudie Juice
http://blog.doyoueat.com.au/2011/11/product-review-nudie-juice.html
Monday, November 28, 2011. Product Review - Nudie Juice. Written by Kate Bullen, APD. For my son’s 2. Birthday morning tea I purchased some juice – and thought it might make a good product review. I really don’t buy juice very often so firstly was a little bit shocked by the huge array of juices to choose from. I only looked in the chilled section – and that was overwhelming enough! I grabbed the Nudie Juice just because I know it is an Aussie company and I like to support local. J. Less than 1.0g. Its b...

Dietitian Online Blog: Poos aint Poos
http://blog.doyoueat.com.au/2011/08/poos-aint-poos.html
Friday, August 5, 2011. Written by Kate Bullen, APD. A discussion last week with a couple of girlfriends got me thinking that this could be a good topic to discuss. At the end of the day (and/or at the beginning of the day – depending on what your ‘normal’ is! So if you have just sat down to eat a meal, then this is probably not what you are wanting to read while eating. Just an upfront warning! So we all eat. And we all poo. Is there a link between the two? What is in my stool? By the time your stool re...

Dietitian Online Blog: June 2011
http://blog.doyoueat.com.au/2011_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 30, 2011. Written by Kate Bullen, APD. Winter fruit in our house consists of oranges, mandarins, apples, pears, kiwifruit and pineapple. Of course I would usually include bananas in there – but they are not so frequent at the moment! I thought I would showcase the nutritional profile of some of these fruits over the next few weeks – and tonight I will start with oranges. Oranges also contain folic acid or folate, thiamin, fibre and some iron. Apparently oranges don’t ripen any furthe...
