Monday, November 2, 2009. Planting Daffodils With Durrence's Class. Make a Smilebox slideshow. We had some really nice fall weather today for a change! So I took Mrs. Durrence's kindergarteners out to the garden. We planted Daffodils in front of the letter D in the Alphabet Garden! The kids were great! I love daffodils because when I see them blooming at the end of each winter, it's a sure sign that spring is coming! I can't wait to see them emerge here at FLE next Spring! Posted by Mrs. Smith. Digging Deeper - Learning In the FLE Outdoor Classroom

http://diggingdeeperatfle.blogspot.com/2009/10/this-week-i-am-going-to-take-advantage.html

Monday, October 12, 2009. This week I am going to take advantage of our unseasonably warm weather and plant some seeds with the kindergarten. Each class will plant a row of something. Today I took out Mrs. Durrrence's class. They did an awesome job planting Snow Peas! They had to get a few weeds out of the way first. Then we lined up side by side and spaced the seeds out. Then they covered them with a little dirt and watered the seed. I think the part they liked best was watering! Posted by Mrs. Smith.

Digging Deeper - Learning In the FLE Outdoor Classroom: Digging Sweet Potatoes

http://diggingdeeperatfle.blogspot.com/2009/10/digging-sweet-potatoes.html

Friday, October 23, 2009. Make a Smilebox slideshow. On Thursday of this week Mr. Anderson, Mrs. Wilson, and Ms. Bowling took their classes out to dig up our sweet potatoes. The 5th graders paired up with a kindergartener and they just had a blast digging up the potatoes! We had a pretty nice harvest this year! There were about a half of a wheel barrow full of them. Some were really nice sized and other were rather small. The next step will be to cook them after they dry out! Posted by Mrs. Smith.

Friday, December 7, 2012. Not Doomed to Fail After All. Isn't it common knowledge that 50% of all marriages end in divorce? But in all reality one sibling could be married and divorced 5 times while the other 4 stay happily married to their original spouse their entire lives. This could change the view on marriage and the perceived inevitability of divorce. Realize it will take at least 2 years to reach normalcy. The birth parent needs to do most of the discipline. Digging Deeper Into Math

Digging Deeper Into Math. Monday, June 9, 2014. Summer is here.Yippeee! Today I listened to a news story discussing how much time our students have off due to summer break. From kindergarten to 5th grade, they have 15 months of summer! Summer is an important break from "book" learning, but there's no need for students to slide. Your phone most likely has a great app to help them with walking, biking, or driving (you, not them! They will learn how far a mile is only when they have multiple experiences.
