Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. The Lady in Waiting. The Lady in Waiting. Tea, cake, and life in Britain. A Cute little bird visits our garden for the first time. June 6, 2015. Yesterday we had a very sweet little thing appear at the bird feeding area – a tiny ball of fluffy brown feathers. And then when his Mum appeared, my suspicions were confirmed. I hope we see many more of these plucky little birds in the months to come🙂. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window).

Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. The Lady in Waiting. The Lady in Waiting. Tea, cake, and life in Britain. Sewing the perfect vintage day dress for spring (Sew-Easy 3296). June 15, 2015. What I really love about this pattern is the neckline. The pleating looks lovely, but it provides an incredible fit around the bust area (and it’s pretty easy on the eye as well… a real show-stopper! I tried scrunching the fabric when I was buying it, and it left very few creases behind (always a good sign). I also liked the...

Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. The Lady in Waiting. The Lady in Waiting. Tea, cake, and life in Britain. Taking time out for my Dad. August 10, 2015. I’m really sorry that I’ve been away for so long and I haven’t blogged in the last few weeks. I fully intended to, but I’ve been busy taking care of my Dad. Looking back, all I can remember of the past few weeks of my life is feeling really tired and being stressed out. Me and my Dad, tired out after taking care of each other. Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. The Lady in Waiting. The Lady in Waiting. Tea, cake, and life in Britain. Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. Fred Knifton in 1941/2. Do you recognise this man? Or have you seen his picture somewhere else before? My Grandfather spent his whole life. I have been researching the history of the squadrons he served in, but I would really like to make contact with any of his friends who may still be alive, or any of their relatives. PS If you are an ex-Luftwaffe pilot who recognises this man (an...

Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. The Lady in Waiting. The Lady in Waiting. Tea, cake, and life in Britain. Portrait of a Baby Great Tit. June 11, 2015. We have some more baby birds in our garden, and this time it’s the great tit family who are introducing their new brood to our bird feeding area. The babies are wonderfully fluffy and they spend all their time crying to be fed:. Taken with my Panasonic Lumix TZ40 with a Leica lens. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Fred Knifton of 617 Sqn. The Lady in Waiting. The Lady in Waiting. Tea, cake, and life in Britain. Sergeant Sakura’s War. April 1, 2015. A funny piece for April Fools🙂.
