Sunday, 25 March 2018. The fabrics were cut into 2” strips and these were used to add borders to the top and bottom of each cat square first and then along the sides. I cannot emphasise enough how useful the ironing station is next door to my sewing machine. A small travel iron and a pad made with calico and 2 layers of cotton wadding is so useful! Every seam was pressed as soon as it was sewn and the construction went along like clockwork. It is good piecing practice! I wish it was! Sunday, 18 March 2018.

Sunday, 29 June 2014. This week, the focus is on the Gresford exhibition last week. I sold all of my items in the exhibition itself and all but 2 items on the sales table (an Xmas box and a cushion cover) which I gave away to get rid of them! Quilts and Blue challenge. It is impossible to show everything but here is a taster. Cross stitch alphabet shawls. Suffolk puffs Xmas tree. Ribbon work with stitchery. The first showed swollen nerve endings with the condition taking hold and spreading across the body.

Thursday, 30 April 2015. Little time has been given to sewing this week, as much effort has been spent preparing for the holiday. We leave tomorrow and my sister and her husband arrive to look after the cats for the duration; this means we can relax, knowing they are being spoiled! 1 ½” strips. My Home Page

Dilys Hallybone was bought up in Pembrokeshire, but has lived in Harpenden for many years. She studied Fine Art at the Ruskin School of Drawing (University of Oxford) and later printmaking at St Albans Arts School and the University of Hertfordshire. She has shown pictures at many open exhibitions including the Royal Academy and Bankside Gallery. Her work is in many private collections in this country and abroad. Christmas Exhibition at Parndon Mill 2009. Art on the Common, Harpenden June 2009.
