chungkingexpress: October 2007
http://chungkingexpress.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 30, 2007. I'm sure that London is the middle of the world. I went to an Afghani concert last Friday and Congolese the week before. And I discovered that I'm not the only white person who thinks they can do a bit of soukous dancing. I've been taking afternoon coffee breaks at a Portugese cafe. Near work but I'm now thinking of sharing myself with the Palestinian Cafe across the road, owned by the son of one of my students. And for Pip (and others? Here is the exposing. I was invited for a...

the hinata diaries: March 2006
http://cocotterouge.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Dark chocolate slice with masala figs. Every now and then, a little milestone passes that makes me feel a wee bit more grown up in the kitchen. First meal where no-one got sick. (Fortunately I think I managed to get pass this quite a few years ago. The human stomach is an amazingly strong organ.). First meal prepared and served on time. (I'm still working on this one). Developing the discipline to wash up as I cook, thereby not leaving a mountain of mess in the sink. Monsieur H...

http://shelmie.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Farewell Sydney, hello UK! Tuesday, November 07, 2006. What would I do without it. My dear friends,. The Macpac puffy goose-down jacket you all bought me has been a. Saviour. If it wasn't for it I'd be on a plane back to Aus now. Maybe) It's pretty cold these days, temps get down to 0d Celsius,. But I don't feel the cold because of all the goose feathers I'm. Wearing. It's amazing stuff. I worry about how much I'm going to. Wear it, and the laborious washing instructions (hand-wash, no. I have to at leas...

chungkingexpress: Moving
http://chungkingexpress.blogspot.com/2008/10/moving.html
Saturday, October 18, 2008. Apologies to anyone who has been visiting this blog in vain. I've become pretty irregular lately and have decided to close down chungkingexpress for a while and make it password protected. I'm not done with writing though and I'm planning to start up a new blog themed on my stay in a Rajasthani village. My aim is to write once a week and write well. I'm not quite ready to put a first post up but I'd love any comments on how it looks so far:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

chungkingexpress: I take the bus
http://chungkingexpress.blogspot.com/2008/09/i-take-bus.html
Friday, September 05, 2008. I take the bus. Since I'm working Saturdays, I get to take a 5 day holiday in lieu each month. I just took my first one to Jaipur and Delhi. Much to my colleagues' displeasure, I insisted on giving up the car I'm supposed to be provided with and travelling by bus. Apart from environmental objections, I was in desparate need of a little independence. I caught up and ran along banging the side of the bus. The door opened and I jumped in, almost collapsing in relief at the si...

she bakes & she cooks: June 2009
http://thebakerwhocooks.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 25, 2009. My dad turned 60 yesterday. There was no huge birthday bash, no noisy chit-chatter, no feast and no candles. We're a simple family and we celebrated in our small little way - with an apple strudel and a slice of cake from Canele. No cakes came out from my oven this time. Guilt is settling in as I type this. So why hasn't he started a food business of his own? In the mean time, enjoy your 60s! I love you Dad! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. 2006 Holiday Bake Sale.

You know what she said to me? So anyway this is what I my new LCD and Home theatre would look like. Will get the real picture soon. Anyway I’m EXCITED LAR! Not with Dee (. I always ...
