Chewing liquorice: The 2013 Toronto Blue Jays Part 2
http://chewingliquorice.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-2013-toronto-blue-jays-part-2.html
Postings about baseball and other sports cards and memorabilia that interest me. Tuesday, July 9, 2013. The 2013 Toronto Blue Jays Part 2. Pitching. The Jays and their pitchers. Truly a tale of 2 extremes. Let's look at the first extreme, the starters. So far the Jays have used 13 starting pitchers this season. My analysis will start from the "top", with the pitcher with the most starts. Stats as of 10:27 AM PST, July 9 2013. 1 RA Dickey. 19 starts. ERA 89. 2 Mark Buehrle. 18 starts. ERA 95. This is how ...

West Virginia Cards: October 2008
http://wvcards.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2008. Happy Halloween, everyone! Mark from Stats on the Back. Sent me a nice stack of players that became managers. My favorites are this 1971 Topps card. Of Marcel Lachemann (which goes with the 1966 Topps card. Of his brother Rene that I got a few months ago), and this 1977 Topps card. Of Joe Torre. Thanks, Mark! If you like playing flash games, check this one. Out It's called Zombie Baseball, and it fits the Halloween season. It's a little gruesome for kids, though. I was gonna pos...

West Virginia Cards: June 2009
http://wvcards.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 21, 2009. As some of you know, I just got my driver's license this past Wednesday. To celebrate, I went on a road trip to visit my cousins in Caldwell, Ohio. On the way home Saturday, I decided to stop at the Rink's flea market in nearby Marietta. There were a couple booths/stalls/whatchamacallits that sold baseball cards, and this is what I bought. A quartet of 1977 Topps I found in the 50 cent box in one guy's booth. All of these fit the groups of players I like to collect. 578 Adam Kenned...

RGB Cards: Wow, post #300
http://rgbcards.blogspot.com/2013/02/wow-post-300.html
Wow, post #300. Posted by Jonathan @ RGB Cards. Posted in 2013 topps. Sorry it's not terribly worthy of a round-number milestone. Due to my lack of interest in the patches and inserts this year, I'm probably just going to stick to hobby boxes and pick up the few manupatches I want off of eBay. What say you all? Is this a solid plan? What are your thoughts on the blasters and this year's crop of insert sets? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Ken Griffey Jr. (79). Status: 68% complete (449 of 660). Heart...

RGB Cards: January 2013
http://rgbcards.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Posted by Jonathan @ RGB Cards. Posted in 1975 topps. Just finished going through all my '75 Topps. It's too late to do a full-blown post, but I now have 449 cards, more than two-thirds of the way through the set. I'm pleased with that result. The lot of 422 cards added approximately 300 new cards to my set, as well as quite a few for the team sets. This weekend, I'm going to post the cards I have of players who went on to become managers. Oh, and I did get a Brett card amongst all of them. :). However, ...

These cards have all been scanned in and are organised by year. If you have any Tim Lincecum cards that are not pictured here, I would be interested in trading for them. Topps Turkey Red #88 (RC). Friday, April 24, 2009. New banners, you decide! After Gimping around for a few hours, here's two pretty rough drafts for possible banners. I like the second one a lot, but not all the clutter in the middle, text needs to move around a bit, but I like the "At their best" banner and the day/night doodad. Number 2b (I cleaned up some clutter):. Let me know what you think. I'll probably post this over at '88 Score as well. I'm an impatiend little feller. Thursday, April 23, 2009. 1989 Bowman want list is up.

1988 Donruss: Pack Nineteen
http://1989bowman.blogspot.com/2009/06/pack-nineteen.html
Monday, June 1, 2009. New feature for the second half of the box: Pack Ripping Music. For this pack I've chosen Solitude Aeturnus' 1990 debut album "Into the Depths of Sorrow." This is epic doom metal at its finest. But of course, next week I could be liking "Epicus" better. That's the way it goes. This song is from their 1994 album "Through The Darkest Hour.". Ok, how 'bout we look at some baseball cards? Fred McGriff is the only superstar caliber player I can think of that the Braves picked up near the...

Saturday, June 20, 2009. Duplicates are indicated by bold text. 622 Slugging Sophomores (Wally Joyner/Cory Snyder). 647 Major League Prospects (Chris Gwynn/Peter Smith). Ok I can accept this. Two packs of doubles out of the whole box (assuming the final pack isn't full of doubles). That's not so bad, really. Yes I've lost two full packs, which is annoying as hell, but that's only 30 cards. Here's hoping the last pack isn't a big let down. Friday, June 19, 2009. Where should we start. Two more. So far...

Saturday, June 13, 2009. Duplicates are indicated by bold text. 632 Pitching Magic (Mike Scott, Orel Hershiser). 341 Andy Van Slyke. Well, it had to happen sooner or later. I guess I can make a for trade section for '88 Fleer now. Hopefully this is the only bad pack of the box. Upgraded cards are indicated by bold blue. 647 Major League Prospects (Chris Gwynn/Peter Smith). Anyhoo. this wasn't a great pack, but it'll do. Pete Smith is best known for his time in Atlanta, where he pitched mostly as a fifth ...
