Platonic and Gin: Day 36 Great Falls, MT
http://platonicandgin.blogspot.com/2007/08/day-36-great-falls-mt.html
Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Day 36 Great Falls, MT. I even saw a doe and fawn hopping along the side of the road, over a fence and off into the grasslands. After a stop at the local Target, where I bought way too much food, I'm feeling 100% again, and ready to battle our first pass of the Rocky's tomorrow. Montana really is an incredible state. We are currently in Great Falls, taking a few hours off as Armin heads to the local bike shop. "What's this? You say. "Armin's having bike problems? Just want to ...

Friday, August 31, 2007. Day 43 - 73 Miles. Paterson to Maryhill State Park. Total = 3,365 Miles. Our plan was to take it easy for three days and have a nice ride into Portland, but today was hellish. Part of it was the affects of doing 130 miles yesterday, but really it was the conditions. Hot, windy, few places to get water (I had to refill out of the Columbia), and hills. It was really one of the hardest days. Thursday, August 30, 2007. Day 42 - 131 Miles. Total = 3,292. Wow, they know how to treat bi...

Tuesday, July 31, 2007. Day 18 - 81 Miles. One thing about bicycle touring is that you become a human bug shield. Just think about the last time you took a long drive in the country and how filthy your windshield became. Well, for us we get to experience that up front and personal. I've had bugs zip into my mouth, crash off my helmet, and fly full speed into my sunglasses. The last of which is kind of scary. Day 17 - 81 Miles. Total = 1120 Miles. Emeralds Grove to Mazomanie. Once you get in your head tha...

Scoperta: San Juan Bicycle Trip - Day 6
http://bicycletour07.blogspot.com/2008/07/san-juan-bicycle-trip-day-6.html
Friday, July 4, 2008. San Juan Bicycle Trip - Day 6. We didn't do many miles today, but it was still productive. Yesterday on a hike around the park we had come across the non-primative campsites that had super nice bathrooms with showers! Our motivation wasn't super high this morning and we were feeling pretty gross, so we marched down to the other campground and each enjoyed a nice 3 minute shower for 50 cents. Could have been longer, but it felt great! Can't wait for a full on shower tomorrow or Sunday.

Friday, June 29, 2007. Short History of the Ford Focus, 2000-2007. The Focus died today. This is a short history of its life. If you have memories of time in the Focus, please leave a comment. June 2000, purchased focus from lamdmark ford in portland, oregon. 3 days later, solo hiking trip to Flat Top Mountain Oregon. The voyage was a trip up a dusty rough road to the trail head. Brand new car, quickly became dirty. New Years Eve 2000, drove to spokane at the last minute for new years eve party. Nov 2004...

Thursday, August 30, 2007. Day 43, Paterson, WA. What have i done to anger you? But the roads were fast. A Few Follow up Thoughts on Idaho. There were just a few things I forgot to mention about Idaho before:. Your shoulders suck, and your drivers are rude. Your logging trucks are the worst of all, but it's so hard to hate them as they smell of delicious pine, making Christmas memories the strongest as your life passes before your eyes every time a truck passes. With a bit of rain coming down and the desire to get the trip over with, I never took the time to enjoy the scenery around me. I don't know. I'd like to do some canoeing or kayaking.will try and get out backpacking as well. Have hopes to travel to Hawaii with Sarah in the near future. So much to do, so little time. Friday, July 4, 2008.
