SERVICES: SOCIAL OUTREACH PROJECT - ARTISTA ARTS and CRAFTS. In December 2004 SPD found the Artista Arts and Crafts project to enable artists with disabilities to exhibit their art products and auction it to the public. An conference room was renovated and turned into an art gallery for the purpose of exhibitions. SPD purchased a number of art pieces which remain on exhibition, using it to market these special abilities of persons with disabilities. An example of some of the paintings on exhibition.

As with any young child, education is of utmost importance – and perhaps more so for learners with special educational needs. Over decades this organization has invested in special education through facilitating parents to create pre-school facilities from which a number of special schools have developed. SERVICES: HOUSING and CARE. NONYANE INDEPENDENT LIVING CENTRE. In 2005 SPD established an independent living centre for people with disabilities. Initially, seven independent units were built. Currently though the Nonyane Independent Living Centre (ILC) consists of eleven units, with potential expansion in the near future. Support to residents and involvement as required. Communicate with parents and families when necessary. Mobilize general maintenance services. Maintain surrounding gardens and entrance.
